Beyonce on SNL

So how much of that band was actually playing?

I do like that song though. She can rock a guilty pleasure.

If her band were all dudes, would people question if the band is really playing? Just wondering.

Um, YES! The music didn't sound live at all, and the musicians didn't look they were making the sounds that were being heard. It has nothing to do with sex.

Of course not.

Let's wait for "beyonce's band members are all untalented sluts!" thread, shouldn't be long.

Um, ok, whatever. I went from asking whether the band was playing, because so many on SNL don't, regardless of gender, to being someone who's going to call them sluts.

I like her, I like the all-woman band thing. Lighten up people.

The funny thing is alot of the rock bands play live, some of the "pop bands", don't. Even though her band was playing along lastnight, they were playing. I guess Jessica Simpson's sister has made people leery.

Even parts of the Coldplay performance a few weeks back were pre-recorded.

I frikin love Justin Timberlake. Are Aquarius people awesome or what?!

He was the highlight of the show for me. I could not get enough of of him. I was soo happy to see him and I was laughing and giggling like a little girl. razz

Single Ladies is SUCH a stupid ass song, especially if you listen to the lyrics. And the aerobics, um, dance moves, were only funny in the parody because Justin was there. Beyonce, I must say was way more comfortable in the skit than I thought she'd be. Maybe she is getting her acting chops -- comedy is hard to pull off.

At any rate, I hated her performances. She overdid If I were a Boy from the getgo. You have to build up the passion. That's more effective. If you start out yelling and screaming, by the end when you do it, I'm not moved. neutral

Also, Single Ladies is just idiotic and all that grinding and gyrating should be beneath someone on her third album striving to be an "icon" as she keeps saying.

Oh -- and I wanna fuck her female guitarist with the huge dramatic hair.

Damn! I love her.

On another show, She came out and was vibing with Bey durign the climax of If I were a Boy. Beyonce was kneeling down right at her guitar. (like simulated head -- like you'd do with a dude guitarist. Ha ha) They didn't do that tonight. But that was hot. I wish they had!

I know. But, alot of people on this board love to throw arrows at Beyonce. I can hear the sound of the bows now.

Exactly, i remember a few weeks ago a thread on MARIAH performing on tv show in england and i posted "what a waste, she flew a "band" over there to just stand there and use a record" and that band was ALL MALE and no one said shit. I think people jump on things because they think it will stir shit up, i dont care if she has a bunch of Klingons playing behind her, are they live or not is what the point is.

Don't have the Beyonce musical performance, but the skit was funny.

Here's a video of it and some weekend update with Justin.

I enjoyed the SL performance.

It took me a minute to get into SL. It's quite enjoyable and the killer choreography in the video is awesome.

I enjoyed both performances. my only drawback were the outfits for the single lady song. that was ugly and didn't really fit the song, but other wise i give Beyonce props for great dance moves and singing on point.

It totally seemed like gay night. I guess without politics, homophobia always works or is Paul Rudd trying to tell us something? The Snagglepuss thing was great, though. About time, you Pussy!

I was pretty bored by Beyonce singing/"acting"..looks great, though.
And the Justin Timberlake thing....Holy crap!
