is it me or has this been happening a lot lately? and does it really help push the songs in american radio?

The most recent one that I can think of is the new Coldplay single, Lost!, which features a rap by Jay-Z, who, along with his wife Beyonce. also happens 2 b freinds with Chris Martin!!!

The rap version of Lost! also appears on Coldplays new EP, Prospekts March, which is due out next week!!!

I think they did it with Kylie too. She's not British but has a big following here in the UK but not in the US. They added the rapper Plies to one of her songs I believe.

Also Jay-Z getting added to Amy Winehouse's 'Rehab' is one that springs to mind. I was in the US for a few weeks in the summer of 2007 and the version with Jay-Z was all over US radio.

as long as i dont have to hear it on any Girls Aloud singles im OK. The Coldplay Jayz version SUCKS big time.
