he´s got Character

I don´t think he´s just in it for the money. This makes him a bit less predcitable.

I´m trying to keep my expectations low
But I think it´ll be a great album.[

I know just what you mean. In my heart i really am a rock chick though i don't listen to it any more and it would be nice to get intoa solid rock album again. I'm looking forward to it. Does anyone know if they are going on tour??

I'm not sure if I'll be buying this album. I haven't listened to any of the previews, but A.) None of the original band, except for Axl, is on this album, and B.) I've heard a lot of people say that it sucks.

I'll hold my judgement until after I read a few reviews on release day, and then maybe I'll buy it.

If the reviews of Chinses Democracy that I've read so far are to be believed, Axl has spent most of the past 14 years stuffing overdubs onto this album.

I've heard all of the tracks from the album in various stages of completion, and it's great. There are a few bummers (the first two tracks leave much to be desired, and one of 'em is the lead single), but many of the songs are just fantastic.

It's ambitious and unique in the way that mainstream rock albums haven't been for a long time. For that much, I give Axl and Co. much credit.

If anything, after the album's released, check out "Catcher in the Rye" and "Prostitute" in particular - easily my two favorite cuts on the album. The final version of CITR is mindboggling compared to the softer, more ethereal demo that's been around for a couple years.

I disagree on Catcher, the demo with Brian May in my opinion I like better, the guitar on it seems more fitting. Overall most songs didn't move me so far.
Music is the best...

I liked it more than I thought I would, though it didn't really sound much like the old GnR in all. first 3 tracks, If the World and IRS. Rest is kinda "meh"

good lord forgive me for I know not what I do... wink
I never, I repeat never, thought I would care about this GnR album.
Don't care for old GnR why would I care for this? Well. after satisfying a curious thought, I listened. And I was shocked to realize, I like this.
It's epic, forward thinking, ambitious, pretentious, prog, convoluted, and almost nothing like old "classic" GnR.
Probably why I like it.
Relevant? To who? More like, who cares. It's only Rock and Roll, and yes I like it. cool
Fantasy is reality in the world today. But I'll keep hangin in there, that is the only way.

Some of Chinese Democracy sounds like Michael Jackson (c.1995) covering Led Zeppelin (C.1975).

Discuss.
