That's one of my favorite B. Sure cuts of all time. That came on my shuffle playlist at the gym yesterday and it still sounds good after all this time.

I even liked the little mini rap Al tried to do. The beat's the same and the productions seems to be smoothed out to make it sound more R&B which worked out well.

Never heard this song before but I remember Al's second album 'Private Times and The Whole 9'.It was a mess....an over-long,filler-packed album that went on and on and on,with only a few decent songs along the way.I don't even have it anymore.

Does anyone know why he misspelled it as "Missunderstanding." I've always guessed that it's some kind of reference to the woman ("Miss"), but it's always bugged me.

Anyway, I agree with y'all about the album as a whole. It doesn't help the album that both "Missunderstanding" and the third single "Had Enuf?" were remixed for their single releases. I like "No Matter What You Do" with Diana, but it's nothing special. "So Special" was one of the album's best tracks.

'Private Times...And the Whole 9' is an example of how artists can sometimes over-reach.He should have used the less-is-more approach of his debut album.It's an unpretentious,8-song album with no filler at all.All 8 tracks are solid.

The follow-up is bloated,over-long and just plain boring.

I agree,this is definitely one of the strongest tracks on the album.It has a "Nite and Day" vibe to it.I'm surprised that it wasn't a bigger hit.This probably should have been the first single.

It wasn't a single at all (although it did get some radio play). I have no problems with "Missunderstanding" as the lead single (and neither did most, considering it hit #1), but I definitely would've made "So Special" the follow-up single. That being said, "No Matter What You Do" has to be considered a success, because reaching #4 with no video was no easy feat those days.
