I wouldn't take her over Megan Gale, who seems far more suited. But would Hollywood be ready for a black Wonder Woman when they can't even stomach an Asian Goku? I'm afraid of Americans. I'm afraid of the world.

Lynda Carter has put such a stamp on that role, until it would be hard for anyone to fill those red boots. For starters, Beyonce is too short to play Wonder Woman, the amazon princess.. Not only was Lynda Carter's stunning beauty that wone her the iconic role, but her 6 foot 1 stature. "POOR IS THE MAN WHO'S PLEASURES DEPEND ON THE PERMISSION OF ANOTHER" Madonna

Sorry about that thing above.
Despite not being an American myself (which sort of was the whole point about the ironic remark on the top part of the thread), I am every bit as happy about B. Obama being elected as the president of the United States (hell I called my own MOTHER in the morning to discuss it). And even despite being a well-known cynic and a pessimist around here, I am now a bit more positive about the future even on a global scale. Explaining attempts at humour is a bit of a dead-end and ridiculous, but I'll give it a try: I can take the role of an asshole on this site periodically if it makes people for a moment to reflect on their own feelings and reactions. That's basically what any attempts at humour are basically about, since they really on social contradictions and expose a number of sore aspects of our day-to-day existence by default. The question here really is always to me - and insofar as I've observed the writing on this site and PPML for more than a decade now - what use is it for anyone to get upset because of off-the-cuff one-liners?. Can these reactions themselves be used for anything? I can understand that the percentage of people who would find a joke such as that funny rely on the supposition that there remains also a whole lot of people who don't. Which is to say racial tension is not going to go anywhere too soon - but if people really would understand that such "tension" isn't just an abstract entity "out there", but requires your own reflection and a willingness to support such a psychic structure in your own mind, we would have won half the battle already. It's not that people wouldn't be entitled to their feelings, or that they would be simply imagining any form of oppression, it's just that people shouldn't simply rely an those sentiments as given, because more than anything people are reacting to mere references to imflammatory topics held together by a few vague words associated with such phenomenons than any actual content itself. If it's a form of opposition, then fine, but it shouldn't be automated - it should demand reflection. That is exactly the function the educational system should have, but it doesn't due to it being advantegous for the social orders in general not to teach a critical attitude which should be also applied on yourself and not just the surrounding environment. Simple attempts at humour like that don't certainly change the world on their own right, but are a bit better way to convery certain issues than mere "you're wrong about that"-attitude. Just observe your own reactions and be honest about them - that's all I'm asking. Of course it doesn't change the fact that I am just the type of personality that likes to stir shit by default. Thank you for reading, and since an explanation was demended. I'm not going to contribute to this thread anymore, if somebody wants to comment on it send a private message.

I want her to take a break... from all things, just for a while... even if JayZ knocked her up tomorrow she'd probably find some project she could do up to the 9th month... she'd play a pregnant singer who solves crimes on the side or something... damn, does she not get sick of herself???

And yet, she'd probably do just that. Sorry but I can barely see anyone as Wonder Woman other than Lynda Carter let alone Beyonce. How are they gonna work that whole Greek aspect in there? I still don't think Beyonce is a very good actress. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

I have a feeling she's only doing all these movies so she could add Oscars to her resume. She is definitely not Will Smith though, not even Halle Berry! I've seen her movies, but I just see Beyonce acting goofy, not really any other character. I might change my mind with the new movies when I check them out though I have a feeling I'm going to be cringing at her with the etta wig

I think America is ready for a Wonder Woman movie. Hell, we've seen Batman, Superman, The Hulk, and Spiderman. If Beyonce gets the role or makes it happen more power to her. Anyone can do whatever they believe in and I think she would make a good Wonder Woman.

NaughtyKitty said: Beyonce: "A Black Wonder Woman Would Be a Powerful Thing"
Friday November 7, 2008 Beyonce Knowles wants to be the first black actress to play Wonder Woman on the big screen. "A black Wonder Woman would be a powerful thing. It's time for that, right?" Knowles says in an interview with the LA Times. For her role as Etta James in the upcoming drama Cadillac Records, Knowles had to pack on 20 pounds. Though the actress is in fighting shape now, she acknowledges the red, white and blue bathing suit is an "unforgiving" one. "I would definitely have to keep it right for that costume," she admitted. "The way that Lynda Carter wore it, she was sooo fine. She was amazing. I saw her costume at the Met. Her waist was unbelievable. It was pretty crazy, actually, her proportions." Knowles said she was inspired to play a superhero while filming a fight scene with Ali Larter in Obsessed. "It took us days just to film it. I had my boots on and, wow, I got into it," Knowles told the L.A. Times. "So I really want that now. Now I have to do an action film. It's like dancing and choreography. And the superhero movies now, they're not corny, not corny at all, so that's what I want to do. And I would love if it could be Wonder Woman." http://www.usmagazine.com...ful-thing+ Nooooo! This makes about as much sense as casting Jessica Alba as Sue Storm. If you're a true comic-book geek you know that was just wrong on so many levels.. test

yeah, then she'll want to play the most powerful woman in black history--Harriet tubman in the underground railroad freeing the slaves in high heels and carrying a rifle carrying them in a vintage rolls.
but that's ma girl [Edited 11/10/08 8:58am] nipsy
