I don't think Michael hasn't been releasing music, because he hasn't been producing anything, or because he has a family. We don't know what's holding back the releases, why assume its his kids or personal issues...

Michael though, is a perfectionist, he has said that himself, and I believe he's letting "himself get in the way of the music".... If he would be more open with releasing material, we probably would have double the solo albums we have now from him...

I have to say, as a huge MJ fan, I've given up on new material. The man isn't working on anything, or if he is, he's not working on it hard enough.

The final nail in the coffin was when the new song with Akon was removed from his album. That states a very bad sign on Michael's future in the music department.

yes it does, I was very upset about that cause the song was decent and would have at least made mj mainstream friendly for a few seconds, which he could really use before coming back with his own project

I don't think I've given up on him but I no longer miss him. Like with many fascinations, I lost interest or it no longer stimulates me. If he comes back, great and I hope the music is good. If he doesn't shrug The world keeps spinning as it always has.

Not really. There could've been good reason why the album didn't make the album....like I dunno....the song wasn't that good for one? lol

Considering he basically started recording this project in mid 2006 AND he's reportedly in LA right now for a photoshoot right now, this waiting period ain't nothin' lol

I remember waiting for Invincible! lol If anybody doesn't remember 1998-mid 2001. We got at least 12 release dates, dozens of song titles(only one making the final cut), a long list of collaborations (NONE of which made the final cut). We didn't get the album title until 2 months before the album release.

Michael nor his team has said when it's going to be released, just he's working on a new album. Alot of this news has been from unreliable and dilusional fans from certain fan boards

I remember that period and was so excited for him! I'm not very excited right now like before though I really really miss him and will pick up the album the day it's released.

And by the way we knew about the Invincible title like at least 5 months before it was released, like in Spring. I remember some of the dates as well, one of which ended up being the day janet released all for you.

Yeah, it was 5 months. I remember when fans referred it as "new album" lol

I see it this way. The trial ended in June 2005, he, from what we know, began recording in 2006 or early 2007. We really don't know the aspects of recording this album and how it's going to be released. There's a fan on KOP who's CONSTANTLY making threads complaining, and she doesn't realize Michael Jackson or any artist can just say "I'm gonna release an album and go on tour". Shit like that needs planning, motivation....blah blah lol

no but they have more in common with him than you'd think

britney was a child star too and has released just as many solo albums as he has now and has been through terrible backlash and mental issues too

Madonna is his age and can do it all, maybe men like him could learn a thing or two about feminism, Madonna is a great example of the modern day liberal feminist who can do it all. Work, have a family, etc. I'm sure mj could balance it out too but he doesn't want to and is not even honest with fans about it.

lol Yeah, Madonna and Britney are so great at handling carreer and family together that Britney had her kids taken away from her and Madonna´s getting divorced. I really do not follow Madonna, so I may be wrong, but with that many albums releasing almost every other year with tours in between, I wonder how much time does she spend with her kids. I´ve seen one documentary where Lourdes said she was looking forward till Madonna´s tour ends.

Uh...Madonna is a recording artist.Making music and touring is part of the job description lol If you can't do that then you're in the wrong business, lol.Michael has become lazy in recent years. And even though he rarely releases new albums,he has gone through two divorces of his own (just like Madonna) so I don't see how you can use that against her.

I won’t even comment on Britney since it seems she struggles with mental illness.

As for Madonna, people get divorce whether they have demanding careers or not. At least she was in a stable relationship for an extended period of time with a man she loved. Divorce happens. The marriage may be over but Madonna will more than likely continue releasing albums, touring and doing new things.

I am not holding anything against anyone. I am just saying that things ain´t that perfect even for her as you make them to be.

I do not consider taking time off after 30 years of hard work to take care of your family as being lazy. Besides you don´t have a clue about what he does. The fact that nothing gets released does not mean he isn´t writing and recording. We know that he´s sitting on tons of material that never gets released. He wants the record to be perfect and he has to make it perfect. If he released an average album, you´d be the first to complain as well.

Divorce is unfortunate but it shouldn't be used against her. Her marriage last 8 years, and for Hollywood, that's GOOD! I love her work ethic and miss how michael used to be like that. I really don't believe he makes music in his spare time anymore. He didn't even have his own studio in Neverland, wouldn't someone who's in love with their music want something like that in their home? With all the home and hotel hopping, it's obvious he may not have any musical equipment to come with stuff on his own. And by the way, I believe that access hollywood and geraldo were staged when he played his demos, trying to fool the public into thinking he's still into music.

I had much respect for him for still throwing down on the "History" album when everyone else had sold out to albums full of nothing but ballads and shit hop. I finally gave up on him when I heard the lead single to the "Invincible" album. It took him longer than the rest, but he finally sold out also.

I agree. I also found it odd that over the years when asked who he listened to he’d always pretty much say the same thing. It never seemed that he could zero in and really get specific about a particular artist or band and I don’t mean James Brown or his love of classical. If he did, I must have missed it but I don’t think he’s ever mentioned anyone that made me go ‘whoa’. He also seems to like everything and every other artist/producer is a ‘genius’.

Anyway, if he doesn’t want to do music. Fine. Just stop talking about it. No more ‘exclusives’ of him in the studio. No more getting together with producers whose music you never use anyway. Just go on and live your life. After years of this pattern I think it’s very indicative of what’s really up. Stop baiting the fans. Meanwhile, fans will continue to dwell in the past when there are great artists who work hard and make good music and keep their fans and media informed. I really applaud what Prince, NIN, Madonna, Van Hunt and others have done. I like to revisit the 80s from time to time but life is about moving forward and Michael doesn’t seem to be a part of that.

well considering that most of the people he worked with on Invincible were hitmakers of the 90's, he did end up sounding like a lot of 90's songs did on Invincible, though I do like the album it's not his best. I was upset when I heard he was going to work with DeVante, I was like ugh Jodeci was so boring!
