I doubt it. confused Check him out on the 10th, near the end, his live voice kicked in.

And man was he speaking so fucking deep at the end... that's his real voice too. lol

i think they edited the hell out of everything and what he sang live in msg was probably overdubed on the special
if you watch the vid with britney, you'll see that the opening segment is from the 10th. but if you listen to it from the 10th it sounds live, but on the special it sounds like it sounded in 1988 at the grammys. same with the performance, but there are certain times where you can hear michael trying to match up with brits voice
i think the chorus was for sure lipped, dunno about the rest
yea, i know...

The "live" vocals during the verses was overdubbed and mechanical. The choruses of course were lipped to death. I really don't think Michael got live until the end when he made that drunk-ass holler. confused

Exactly. The "Ho!" was the only live bit. It was a different guy singing the rest. lol

Seeing this does make you seriously wonder whether or not he's still got the ability to perform live ever again.

I know he was in bad shape and clearly something was up with his lip at the time, but how many of you could really, honestly see this guy pulling off an actual tour???

Maybe he knows it himself which is why he isn't doing anything these days. I remember a story a fan told me about meeting MJ shortly after the MSG event and this fan complimented Michael on the shows and apparently Michael's response was "really? you thought it was good?"...

Some people ask why he doesn't just retire, but let's face it, he could never say "I don't think I'm up to it anymore"... His ego would never allow that. So he strings us on...

I think if he had the motivation, yeah

I think he both needs to have the motivation and understand his own limits. I can see him giving good/great performances again, but I can't see him doing those gruelling round the world tours, or two hours of non-stop high energy dancing anymore. As long as he realises that he's fifty now and works with that fact rather than trying to overcome it, I think he could do fine. If he wants it, that is.

I still can't believe he never rescheduled the One Night Only concert.

After the MTV snippet with NSync and the MSG shows I need to see him perform a few more times before I trust a tour.

He'll probably try a comeback cause he's MJ, i'm not so sure he should bother or the vast majority of the world deserves him to even try.

I'd kind of love him to give a 'Fuck you! i'm a legend and i'm done and i'm content" statement.

I'd love for him to do one last good live show and then make that statement. :p

I think MJ still capable of giving a good perfromance, even Mj wasn't satisfied with his performance that night, he himslef said it was just plain horrible, I will judge his skills when i see him in concert or on a new performance in the near future

I agree, if he can't, he should open his vault, let's have Triumph, Victory and BAD tours on DVD, the 'as he was factor' has become uppermost in preserving his legacy, anyone who was a fan in the 70's/80's knows that the 90's and beyond were his downturn and just don't compare.

83/84 were when a real live superhero walked the Earth, a man for all colours and creeds. that sound over the top, but that's how i and alot of folk my age remember it, nobody had more pop-cultural impact in my lifetime, (he was losing fans during the Bad era too due to his surgeries) but putting that aside, that's why everything that happened to him post 93 hurt and why he can never be the same. Not even close. sad

I would so love to see that one, too. I just loved watching the tiny bits of him with Marceau. I am sure that would have been one of his best and most unforgetable performances.

I think he might wanna come-back - just to show his own kids what he can do. I think his kids could be a motivation for him.

Michael faked an illness to get out of that. When Lisa Marie visited him in hospital and asked what was wrong with him, he got angry and accused her of "making trouble". That was the end of their marriage. lol

The ploy served it's purpose though. Janet obviously stole that move from big brother's playbook. wink

Yes, I remember that including the look on Lisa Marie’s face when she left the hospital. lol Of course the fans were angry at her as if they knew the inner workings of their relationship. The fact that he never rescheduled says enough for me.

I don´t think that illness had anything to do with their split up. I believe they had troubles before that and since they already had problems, her visit probably did not help him feel better.

This. He said he had a stomach flu, so they would only have needed to push it back a week or two.

How do you all know of this stuff about Michael and Lisa Maries private life? Is there an article or a book with details on their marriage?
