I think I missed "Still A Thrill", too. It's hot and funkier than those other big hits.

"Still A Thrill"...yeah...the music is funky, and the video, what can I say? She looks fucking GREAT...but I just can't get into how weak she comes across vocally - shit, first time I heard this song I thought it was that manly-voice- having chick from the Pointer Sisters singing. I'm just sayin' whats up with her voice on this record? But, shit, she REALLY looks GREAT in the video. Jody had undeniable star power, that's for sure.
http://www.youtube.com/wa...YZAnHWA_yU "Don't You Want Me" now that is hands down THE BEST Jody Watley record EVER.

http://www.youtube.com/wa...YZAnHWA_yU "Don't You Want Me" now that is hands down THE BEST Jody Watley record EVER. Part of the funkiness is that she sings it in her low register. It's different, angular. It fits the mood of the music.

As a kid it was "Some Kinda Lover".
Then for years it was "Still A Thrill". Now it's probably "Don't You Want Me?". So fucking hot. And the part of the video in the rain.

People on youtube were saying T Boz copied Jody's low voice on Still A Thrill
I think Janet was inspired by the video when she did the long-form Rhythm Nation video, it's one of jody's best! Also it sounds like a cross between Prince's Kiss and Mj & Stevie's Just Good Friends, though I know it came out before the latter.

I think that whole album was kind of funky. Still A Thrill, Want Me, Some Kind Of Lover, Looking For A New Love, but I also liked When A Man Loves A Woman, Friends (because of Rakim) and of course Real Love.

Hey I love Off the Wall too, though I prefer Destiny and Triumph over it.
I just meant in terms of the sounds they were both using in the late 80's

I just meant in terms of the sounds they were both using in the late 80's Destiny and Triumph were albums by the Jacksons. Off The Wall was Michael Jackson alone.
