Aretha Franklin on The View

A poster on youtube has the videos up (I think it's in 3 parts). Check out this person's page to find the videos.

So Aretha was on to promote her upcoming Christmas album (even though Halloween is just approaching LOL). She sang one of the songs from that album, then she did a classic-I won't say what it is-go watch for yourselves smile

Her voice is still very strong and incredible to hear when she performs live. We all know that some singers such as Chaka Khan have lost some of their power and ability over the years, but Aretha still has it all intact.

One thing I just can't get over is Aretha's weight!!!!! She is huge!!! Each time I see her she gets bigger and bigger and I can't believe she has let herself go like this.

I saw it. It was a very good interview. I'm so glad she had on decent clothes. I loved her rendition of Hark the Herald Angels Sing. Can't wait to get the cd. It was also good to hear her discuss why she's not on Arista/J anymore.

That was a real treat to see her on that show, I don't remember if she's ever been on there prior. Her singing voice is still pretty good. When asked who are her favorite artists to listen to, Joy with her sneaky self couldn't wait to throw in Tina's (Turner) name. lol Aretha said, "yes, I like Tina."

At the 2008 Grammys, Tina made a comeback at the Grammys with Beyonce. Well Beyonce mentioned all the great ladies who influenced music in a great deal (Aretha included) and then made the big announcement to Tina announcing her as "The Queen". Aretha was ticked to say the least and released a statement saying she didn't know whose toes she stepped on for them to give Tina the title "The Queen" rather than Aretha. Well Aretha is "The Queen of Soul", Tina is the "Queen of Rock & Roll". Later this year Tina went out on a world tour and she mentioned the Grammy incident with Aretha and joked that queens are supposed to act the way Aretha was. Aretha then said she hadn't MET Tina, lol. Then said that she wouldn't have responded the way Tina responded, lol.

That's pretty much the summary, lol.

Actually, it wasnt all that. Aretha was the only person who adressed Beyonces intro of Tina on the nationally syndicated Tom Joyner morning show, to which Matthew Knowles opened his big flapper in response when it really was not necessary. To my recollection, Tina never addressed the topic publically at all taking sides. Shes been pretty neutral.
