FERGIE. disbelief

What an embarrasing performance. Does she really think those fires could cover that?

Back to the topic, it´s silly.
I don´t think Madonna is ugly, nor beautiful. She´s just average to me, who may look nice, here and there, but that´s all. And she surely needs to put some weight on.
"When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

it's true many of her male fans are gay but not all. People, Madonna is a pop star. She's gotta be a cartoon. She can't look like other women. Long gone are the times when she said I'm average expect of my mind.
Now she's got some super human being body and I admire that.

Face teh truth: There are some beautiful 50 year olds like Marlene Dietrich was without muscles they just looked fine.
But most women at 50 have bellys or hanging tits. I bet most women would die to have Madonna's body. (

You don't have to be a fan of someone in order to find them attractive. I'm not a fan of Kylie's but I can see she's attractive. Millions of men who have no interest in her music would agree with me on that. Madonna is different. You just don't find straight men who fantasize about her. She doesn't come up in discussions of sexy celebrities. At least not if straight men are doing the talking.

You also seem (along with other zealots in this thread) to be blinding yourself to some key points. It's one thing to exercise and stay in shape, but most objective people can see that Madonna's obsessive regimen goes way beyond that. It's clearly a symptom of some psychological uneasiness. The result is not a healthy looking woman, but a ghoulish one.

And by the way there are plenty of older women in showbiz who look far better than Madonna. Far better.

The worst thing about madonna is that fact that she is not accepting that she is getting old , seeing her with those clothes on the video of the song "hung up" was pretty shocking and disgusting to me, you are 50 madonna , wear some clothes ,Her body doesn't look good at all....

Shocking and Disgusting? Really?

I think people are focusing on the bad pics at a bad angle. Come on? There's current pics where she looks fantastic. She has an amazing body for her age. AND who the hell said life ends at 50? What the hell is she supposed to do now? Bake cookies? She's doing what she's always done and seems to be having a helluva a good time doing it too!

Like Gwen Steffani said "The Proof Is In The Make-up". She has never in her life been beautiful. But there was a time when she actually looked good when made up. We'd all like it if we were only photographed at "good angles" and only when smiling or only in what we deem, appropriate outfits but the world isn't like that. She now happens to be one of the most unattractive women in the business and that cannot be disputed. No one is saying she should retire and bake cookies, but stop trying to look like a teenager when your body is showing the world otherwise. Prince dresses like a 50 year old man and looks damn good doing it. I don't see him in sagging jeans and over-sized tee shirts just because it's the cool thing to do.

Hey, we probably agree on more than we realise. biggrin I've known quite a few women in Madonna's age bracket who were sexy as hell. If you're talking celebrities though, Goldie Hawn, Kim Cattrall(?), and Susanna Hoffs all spring to mind. Also, I may be wrong for it, but I always thought Diana Ross was fine as hell..... I still definitely would. nod

Damn, that picture on the left is bad. Still, with make up and hair she can still look pretty good for a 62 year old. Please never show me that picture again. lol

The ugliest thread in pop biz...

from an entire concert, you chose to pick 1 photo. i mean, i don't think i'm
handsome or nothing but if i had to perform on stage and sing a song i'm sure
i would be shocked to see some of the pictures of my own face. i'm sure there
would be a couple looking even more frightening than the one of madonna you
chose to make this thread

lol

i think she looks ok enough for 50. maybe she sould be a little less concerned
with looking skinny and "young" and, dare i say it, start behaving a bit more
like her age. for instance, with her experience, i keep wondering why she just
sticks to modern/contemporary hip/dance music. surely a woman with her fanbase
and her power shouldn't have to be affraid to make a grown up album with some
introspective adult music. real instruments, beautiful melodies and just a bit
more stripped down grown up approach.

i mean, bruce springsteen is fine at what he does and it suits him but if he
would make albums like enrique iglesias and tried to dress/dance/act like him
he would look like a sad old fool. that's my theory.

madonna looked and sounded more like her true self (whatever that is) during
the bedtime stories era and even more so during the like a prayer era. when
she released "ray of light" she was probably at her most beautiful/comfortable.

after that she stuck to a gimmick and it became too old, too fast. it's like
she's stuck in some warp and can't get out of it.

does that mean she's ugly? no it doesn't. it just means she's hanging on to
something that doesn't suit her too well when she could be so much more.

just a few years ago right after the erotica album she was looking quite fat and it made her look like an old mom. it wasn't a good look for her face IMO.
plus she is on a health kick maintaining her body, who knows what us commoners would be into trying to maintain optimum health if we had the money.

That's right, she was never pretty. Madonna is well made up with money, makeup, hair and clothes. As far as her being the ugliest woman in pop, I don't think so. I can think of many others that are much less attractive. The thing I find unattractive about Madonna is her arms. They are gross and I don't understand why anyone would find arms like that on a woman attractive. shrug

Whatever your opinion on Madonna, or your opinion on those who say she's gross or beautiful, she is still putting herself in a place to be objectified & judged.

It's perfectly fair to react to someone who is wearing skimpy costumes that are designed to be noticed.

Yeah disgusting and shocking ..and also horrible...Im focusing on the bad pics froma a bad angle? come on, she is not in her 20's anymore, stop trying to find excuses for whats she is doing, im not asking her to bake cookies , fair enough if she wants to sing but she is 50 and a mother of children , its time for her to wear some colthes and respect her age ...

What does respect her age mean?
Leave the woman alone. She works out and takes care of her body.
How many women here will want her body at 50?
I'm not a fan, but I don't have problem with what's she's doing or her appearance.
Prince is also 50, touring and dressing like he did in his 20's . . .
I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

Err, no. Prince has toned down his wardrobe massively since his 20s/early 30s. You won't see him rockin' this kind of look much these days.....

Exactly. It's offensive to women to say that Madonna's standard is the best they can hope for as they age. There are tons of women her age who look way better (and more natural).

funny, I'm exactly the opposite. When I saw the Papa Don't Preach video it was the first time I ever thought she was really sexy. Express Yourself, Open Your Heart, those were hot videos!

Granted I was young, and looking back at her Virgin era, in retrospect I think she looked pretty good then.

She had her moments after '85, but nothing like those early days. The last time she was really attractive was 1992.

She's just a victim of the gym industry / personal trainer nonsense.

Although now looking back at her old photos she never was more than average, even if people back in the day used to associate automatically beauty and otherworldy sexiness with fame - if you were the most succesful pop starlet in the world, a number of people would automatically consider you "the most beautiful woman in the world" and actually believe in something like that. I guess there just were no public forums where anybody could discuss "how Madonna looks", so everybody just ate it up.

There do exist some gorgeous pop photography of her, but those have very little to do with her own natural looks. In most photos where celebrity women look "really good" their facial features how been basically minimized with lighting, make-up and over-contasting the end-result. Ultimately very little of them is actually showing, people just tent to react favourable to featurelessness and associate that with the concept of beauty. Of course, these days with the myspace / facebook / etc. phenomenons every 16 year old goth / emo chick can erase half of her face and look like the stars.
