Relatively speaking among Motown's stable of performers, it could be argued that, save for David Ruffin, the dearly departed Levi had the most soulful voice of the bunch. And one of the most distinctive in the last 6 decades of popular music.
Rest easy, dear Levi. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

Rest easy, dear Levi. Agreed. You know the day is coming when these greats will depart, but you still just can't believe it when it happens. He will be greatly missed. R.I.P.

I can say, that at least Levi did live past the age of 50. Seemed like for a while there that most of the Motown greats passed either before they reached that age or well into their 50's. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

It's a monster of a track. Definitely one of my Tops favourites. Here are two other great ones. One Happy with a capital "H", and one Sad with a capital "S"... Loving You Ask The Lonely I tried to find their version of "Light My Fire" too, but it's not on Youtube. “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

Based on the average life expectancies of persons of color, this is closer to the norm than the exception, that most of them didn't even live to collect Social Security. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

A long, long time ago...I worked at Woodlawn Cemetery...I know that place like the back of my hand. I'll say my final goodbye to Levi Stubbs, personally, when the press and attention seekers have gone. That won't be a sad day! It'll be most beautiful because beauty is what Levi and the rest of The Four Tops gave to me and I have to reciprocate. If sadness isn't what you want to feel...you don't have to! I prefer celebrating the lives that have touched mine...anyway! I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.
