So we've got this video and her "If I was a Boy" video premiering today, and we just had Britney's "Womanizer" premier last Friday. Who's video do you think will get more airplay or publicity? I know we will be seeing alot of both videos.

That's very interesting because as I was watching Bey's video, I kept getting an Ann Margaret-ish vibe from it. It does have a bit of a retro, 60's feel to it with some of the dance moves and the camera work. So just like "Get Me Bodied" was inspired by 60's movie "Sweet Charity" now its cousin "Single Ladies" is inspired by another 60's performance. hmmm

Is it coincidence or straight biting that both "inspirations" were choreographed by Bob Fosse? hmmm No originality, whatsoevah.

Brit..

They seem to want her to make a comback so badly, it is sickening..

Neither one of them will sell a much CDs in the U.S. in this economy unless they put a Madonna sex-like book in their CD covers..lolololol.

That is the next move.. All these women entertainers follow Maddy..(I am never a fan of hers).

The next trick = The "Sex/Nudity/Sexuality/Sodomite so-called Bi-Sexuality/ trick..

Someone is going to use it to attempt to sell more CDs very soon..

Nope, cuz she was too original and too much of an individualist. So, I don't see Chaka being molded into the cookie cutter machine the way every other popular female artist today is. twocents
Her fashions alone would get her kicked out the club. Could you see a stylist trying to talk her into the latest couture creations? lol

The double standard has always existed. I watched this clip that i hadnt seen since the late 80's of Sheena Easton getting "ripped" on Entertainment tonight about singing "sugar walls" and "strut" and wearing a mini-skirt. And she said "why should i apologize for being sexy? Men dont have to", and with all the things that have changed since those days, the thing that hasnt is the double standard towards women in the industry. I mean i see posts all over about this new Usher Video, and 90% says "damn thats HOT!" now if that was Beyonce or Christina Aguilera grinding all over some dude in bed in a video, the talk would be "slut, ho, tramp" etc...the only thing worse than this double standard is when people dont at least acknowledge that it exists more than ever.

Well, I have never seen the Usher video that people are talking about and I feel a man can be as big a ho as a woman can. I have commented for years in this forum about how sexualized videos are and how I feel women degrade themselves doing them. There is a huge difference is doing something because you really feel you are sexy and doing it to sell a product. Bouncey herself has said she doesn't want to continue to be known for how she looks but when is she going to prove that? I would love for her to have longevity. I would love for the dude in me to stop wanting to stick dollar bills in her draws.

thanx for the clip cool

I used to see that shit
all the time when I lived
in Baton Rouge/New Orleans
they call it" J-Settin" (sp)
they get it from the
dancelines at the black colleges
the queens in Baton Rouge
used to mimick the Dancing Dolls
of Southern University

in the gay bar (whatever it
so happened to be named that week LOL)
there was a certain part of the night
the house music would come on
the floor would clear
and they would battle it out
til 3 & 4 in the morning
groups of em (like 4 or 5 in each group)

that was usually "smoke break"
time for my potnas & me lol
but we come back in only to find
they had only warmed up confused

it's quite entertaining though
some of em even do it better
than the actual Dancing Dolls lol

I'm sure ya'll know this already
but she got that "fag faint"
that was done in the "Get Me Bodied" video
during the "snap for the kids" part
from that same type of dance

because those who mind don't matter
and those who matter don't mind."

THANK YOU!

I love how everyone ignored your 100% true response!

Usher can have a 6 month baby at home while singing about having sex in public with Keri Hilson hanging off him...Beyonce shows off her talent and her killer figure in a song about marriage and she STILL gets called derogatory names.

Disgusting.
I haven't seen the Usher video but the same goes for him. And I am sorry but what talent does Beyonce have? Shaking her ass?

Where am I dissing Christina's voice in my signature? When have I ever stated she cannot sing? Just because I don't like her and the images she chooses to present, doesn't mean I can't recognise her obvious talent.

And if anyone wants to talk about fake, don't look any further than Christina.

I love when people THINK I haven't heard something. lol

I grew up on Aretha Franklin, Gladys Knight, and that ilk. Jill Scott, Ledisi, Lalah Hathaway could blow Bouncey's ass out the water.

If I recall, I said there are better singers. I'll give the girl her props, she can do runs. lol

Anywho, funny how you say that about Xtina's music when Beyonce's albums ain't mindblowing or groundbreaking. All of it sounds the same.

It's funny how people can criticize other artist all the live long day but when you criticize someone they like, they attempt to have a go at you. lol
