http://www.youtube.com/wa...RruDY3jgpk [Edited 9/22/08 15:22pm] i've seen him live with not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 bass players...1 was his brother with a 10 string bass and the other was a female named mc divinity....

untouchable.. in terms of technique, timing, accuracy, and complexity.
His first album is actually 100% listenable, meaning its only bass and no overdubs and still it has melody and movement. although on this video he is too trebley for me.. He usual has more low end and compression.. Music is the best...

Vic is crazy. His brothers are amazing, too. They have a weekly show here in Nashville. They ALL groove.

I'm going to see him, Stanley Clark and Marcus Miller in concert tomorrow! I know it's rude, she's a dude, but all I want is easy action baby! -Marc Bolan

OOHHHH I HATE YOU! that should be a great concert. I like the guy. You know, when marcus and victor were doing their thing in the 1980's you wouldn't have guessed by their solos that they were anything. Man were these guys hiding talent. GLAD YALL LIKED IT. nipsy

When was Victor's talent not apparent? He's had my attention since I heard him and the rest of the Flecktones kick into "The Sinister Minister" (moment of silence for when BET played jazz videos...)

But, what a track. But, I'd say his chops also shone through in his session work and projects before "The Sun Don't Lie" dropped (which changed everything for me, bass-wise ).

If you haven't already, listen to both of them together along with Grand Master Clarke: http://prince.org/msg/8/279228 tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. But as years went on, he became really relavent. How about a duet with him and Stanley Jordan? nipsy
