What's the fuss about Jacko trying to throw his kid out the window?

Isn't this a bit of an over-reaction? I mean he clearly had a good grip. It was a bit odd to see those legs flailing from under that towel... but I wouldn't say I feared for the kids safety!

It was all over the news today. Michael Jackson dangled his baby out of a 4th floor hotel window to show him to the fans. But he held him by one hand so he could keep the rest of the kid covered by a towel. Big uproar from all sorts of people, children's abuse charities etc, and Uri Gellar was on telly trying to explain how Michael was "asleep now, but he feels absolutely dreadful".

I just don't see the problem.

I just saw this story on the news and he was actually smiling when he did it!!! The reporter said that he got caught up in the moment, in the excitement of it all and just dangled that poor baby overthe balcony!! As a parent I can truly say that HE IS A SHITHEAD!!! STUPIDITY made him do it because it doesn't matter how strong a grip he had...he is a sheer ASSHOLE!!! Sure parents have done more and received less press than this...poor babies!!! If he did it for a publicity stint, he is still an asshole!! You don't do dumb junk like that. It was sheer child endangerment...I fear for his children's safety! That poor baby had a towel over it's face!!! UGH!!! What's happening to his friggin' Mind???

It is not about anger management. It is about possibly letting go and killing a child just for publicity's sake. And furthermore, he didn't show the baby's face anyway. It would have been better if hw would have just "held" the baby in his arms. What idiot father is gonna dangle his child over a balcony? And if you say you would...enuff said. It was a STUPID thing to do and you know it!

Well, Nettie, it did seem like you got a little tiffed over Jacko's stupidity. Just seemed odd you got so worked up. Simple as that. Was it a dumb move from a bad decision? Yes, I truly agree. Was it for publicity? I hope not since it could have turned into a catastrophe. An idiot? He possibly could be. Why he had a cloth over the head? Who knows?! Possibly to prevent any emotional scarring of the child. You know how Mike would end up wording it in the end, should a press conference surface. Maybe even to prevent any funny stabs at the baby's looks by the media. Either way, I would never hold my child out over a damn balcony, thank you, 'nuf said.

Of course it was weird for the baby and accidents do happen... Personnally i would hold on my child very tight so as nothing happens and well i'd probably not showing him to the windiws in the first place!!!

No... I'm not a father.

Maybe the towel was there so the kid couldn't see how big the fall would be??

(yikes... sorry.)

I do see the point, but there's no way in hell he was going to drop that child. And he did haul him back into the room pretty sharpish so I guess he realised it was a bit nuts.

Do you know that in some states feeding a child under 6 months of age baby food is child abuse. In Florida I think. Most people think if the baby is old enough to swallow right? Wrong. With the extremes in laws and the lack of concern when a child is really abused may be the point he was trying to make. In some states killing a child under a certain age is not murder. He was there for a child abuse benefit. It seems to me more people are more concerned about the point that many children die everyday from the hands of their own relatives. Now if you were a parent would you think you could go to jail for feeding your child?
sorry if that was over your head...jump up and try to catch the point next time.

Why hold the baby over the balcony in the first place? STUPIDITY!!! It would have been beautiful had he just held the child with a blanket over it or better yet...held a pillow with a blanket over it...no one would have known, especially since him putting the towel over the baby's face defeated the purpose anyway...He is an interesting piece of work, flat out...

Cloudbuster, you are so easily riled. Chill out. So I made a spelling error. This is not the end of the world. My intentions were not to diss anyone because they like or dislike MJ. I too was a fan at one time and I still have 3 of his cd's which I listen to once in a while. The last cd I bought was "dangerous" and I love it, but I can't take him anymore. He's just way too weird and all his antics only prove that he gets weirder everyday. You have to remember that we are all entitled to our own opinions. We may agree or disagree, but don't let other peoples comments get you so upset. I think MJ is a freak and you do not. That's just the way it is. That's just life!! Some people on here think Shakira can actually sing. I say WTF! That girl can't sing at all. Her voice is terrible. We all have our own opinions. Remember that.

Please post a cite to such a statute.

Jeesh. Jacko was not making a "point" about these "urban myth" laws to which you refer.

And please, do tell us in which state it is not murder to intentionally kill a born child under a certain age? (Answer: none.)

Well said - I agree 100% , Shakira? I agree 200% lol
Seriously, he "was" quite talented long ago, he creates and believes his own publicity, now he scares me and saddens me. What he did was completely irresponsible/irrational/inexcusable - he had a grip with one arm and anyone who's ever held a baby knows they wriggle like anything. If he didn't want anyone to see his child's face (ie; towel) why the hell did he bring him out in the first place? It is sooo sad on so many levels.

I agree with you lashious, but so many others think it was a "normal" thing to do. That baby could've fallen in a split second. MJ cares only for keeping his sorry ass name in the news.

If he's really trying to make a *statement* there are much better ways to do it than to endanger a kid.

A *mistake* is leaving your keys on the dresser, or dialing the wrong phone numner. People dont accidentaly dangle kids off a balcony by one limb.

That was a bizzare, concious, and frightening effort. It's not heresay or some malacious rumor, there were plenty of witnesses.

I can care less about what he's done to his face/skin or any other quirks he may have. I know people with tattoos and piercings that have modified themselves more drastically than MJ. Thats his business.

But what he did to this kid made me do a double take on his sanity.
