I miss Tony! Toni! Tone!

Does anyone else miss the R&B band Tony! Toni! Tone!? Over the weekend,I was listening to their 1990 album 'The Revival' and it STILL kicks ass after all this time. Those guys could JAM!! Throughout the years,I've enjoyed many of their songs, such as...

"Little Walter"(1988)
"For The Love Of You"(1988)
"Baby Doll"(1988)
"Not Gonna Cry For You"(1988)
"Feels Good"(1990) (my favorite TTT song!!)
"It Never Rains In Southern California"(1990)
"Wild Child"(1996)

Members Dwayne Wiggins and Raphael Wiggins recently released solo albums that flopped big time. Now would be a perfect time for them to get into a studio and record the reunion CD that many of us are anxiously awaiting.

Are there any other TTT fans on this site?

What up, What up, Whats SUPPP!!! Davideye,

TTT was my favorite r&B group in the nineties...They were excellent for their formula, which was fusing 90's hip-hop beats with 60s and 70's soul/R&B/funk with winning results to boot

Check my album of year picks from 1982-2002 thread, and you'll see that their 1996 album House Of Music made my album of the year pick for that year. That album was OFF THE CHAINS!!!

I think I read in Vibe that there was some tension in the group, mainly from Rafael. I love TTT!

TTT never got the credit they deserved..sure they had hits and went platinum but still. They were consistent and had bangers on all of their releases. They were very underrated imho and were the antithesis of crap rnb production over musicianship and melody. They deserved to be recognized much more than they have been.

It Never Rains
Anniversary
Lets Get Down
Feels Good
Whatever You Want
If I Had No Loot
and more are classic

"and you can New Jack swing om my nuts"
"Climb in my fur."

I loved TTT, one of my favorite bands. By the way I'm sure just an oversight, but it's Raphael Saadiq and I LOVE his solo CD. music

Btw,did you guys know that Prince was gonna sign TTT to Paisley Park in 1986/87? The band was brought to his attention by Sheila E.,whose own band at the time featured a few of these guys( they also appear on her 1987 third album).

Anyway, something went wrong and the guys signed with EastWest Records instead. On their song "Born Not To Know",they sing "Things are gettin' crazy,I ain't wearing Paisley",which was a direct reference to the Paisley Park deal that didn't work out.

Yes&No.they were getting better with each Album.but while they were Catchy&Had Jams I think they got a Bit too Much Juice Overall IMHO.Mint Condition was the Better Band of the USA Between the Two IMHO.but the Band of the 90's for me slightly over Mint Condition was Brand New Heavies.I was Reading a Article in Bass Guitar Magazine on Raphael&He was asked what He learned from Prince&He said how too keep things simple. He said Prince tuned His Bass in E all Night.I dig TTT but the tension&the Overall Vibe makes it seem less likely they will get back.last thing I heard A Cousin of Raphael's&D'Wayne's was supose to become a Lead Vocalist for them but no Raphael.stay tuned.I was feeling them working DJ Quik.
