Granted, he's a fantastic live performer but in recent years the only album that comes close to his 80's brilliance is The Truth. I'll take Lovesexy, Come, TGE, 24, The Undertaker or TRC over anything MJ has done since Bad. In fact, I think listening to Prince flush the toilet (a/k/a Silicon) beats anything by MJ over the last decade... except for Blood on the Dance Floor. (When speaking about MJ, "by" of course means written by QJ for him to perform... at least "vocally" perform, since he can't play any instruments.) No Candy 4 Me

Someone in Tower Records, just browsing. Suddenly, Invincible tracks waft through the speakers and this person just starts vomiting. Too funny. 'dre Tried many flavours - but sooner or later, always go back to the Purple Kool-aid!

you can't at the same time ask for privacy for you family life and exhibit your child as if he was a kind of trophy
the more pathetic is that in mj situation it seems that there is no one : wife, family (where are his brothers?), friends (oh yeah the swindler Uri Geller ) to tell him to stop the BS and bring him back to reality if it's still possible

Don't get me wrong, I'll listen to Dirty Mind, Controversy, Parade, SOTT, etc. before anything post-1988, however, there is no question Prince has been the more consistent of the two artists. Which MJ album is good in the last decade? Invincible? No. Blood on the Dance Floor? No. History? No. Dangerous? No. Which album am I forgetting? (It is easy to forget about albums when discussing MJ's vast body of work. I can barely keep up with his studio output!) No Candy 4 Me

Prince hasn't been consistent for about 15 years which is probably why his albums don't sell well anymore, the public clearly got bored of buying one album after another that was rammed full of aimless sex jams with no melodies. Aside from The Truth and The Rainbow Children his work just simply became predictable which you could never say about Prince in the 80's. He lost it when Wendy and Lisa left him. They coloured Prince's music in a way which P himself could only dream about.
As for MJ, his albums in the last 10 years suffered from being too long which is why i programme each of them to avoid the chaff but on Dangerous, History and Invincible there are ten songs on each of them that i think are great.

Well, we agree about the Truth and TRC being his most interesting albums of the last ten years. I agree W&L's departure was a big creative loss, although I actually think the SOTT/Lovesexy bands sufficiently replaced them and it wasn't until the initial New Power Generation band that his creativity really fell off. I also agree that MJ and Prince both suffer from the same problem--their albums contain way too much filler that masks the moments of brilliance. However, I think Prince's problem is also that his studio output in the '90s suffered from stale production and did not showcase the music the way his live performances did. I'm not an MJ fan because I haven't been exposed to any '90s outtakes or live performances by MJ that keep me on board with his music the way I have with Prince. It doesn't matter what we think about MJ or the media, what matters is that the baby was endangered by hanging over a balcony, even if it was for a few seconds, it was a few seconds too long. I don't hate MJ at all. I actually feel sorry for the man because it's obvious that the man is a complete nut for doing what he did and he will continue to keep digging his own grave so we might as well get use to this cause this doesn't look like it's going to change anytime soon.
I'm with Pfunkjazz on the towel thing. I'm amazed that no one's looking at the fact that them children had sheets and towels over their faces, possibly blocking air to their noses. That's just as "dangerous" too. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

okay about the towel thing..you ask ..WHY DID HE DO IT? just think about it...
tabloid photographers follow MJ EVERYWHERE...he hides the faces of his kids for their OWN good...so their faces wont be printed on tabloids and shit... he is only protecting his children... and about the dangling thing...i heard that MJ did it because of the lion king...he's a major disney fan...dunno if it's true or not but that doesnt matter... he shouldnt be called EVIL or a bad parent because of that one incident...he admits he was careless but his intentions were not negative.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
oh yah...and he sure as hell is a GOOD parent...
his children are soo freakin mature and intelligent...it's not even funny...they are well behaved and not spoiled. he goes out of his way for his children...he spends a LOT of time with his kids, doing the right things for them..and educating them.

He wants to protect his children from the media so he dangles them from a 5th floor balcony? It wasn't just the little one..but the odler one two. Looked like he was holding them hostage or something. "give me a million dollars and a private jet or I start killing kids!!" And if he really did do it cause he was trying to imitate the Lion King..then there's your problem right there! What is he 6 years old? Come on..if he wasn't MJ he would have been a guest on Jerry Springer YEARS ago as screwed up as he is.

I don't know Michael jackson Personally, but I do believe he loves his kids. I just think he got over-excited. The Press painted him in a Negative light which is unfair. He has issues this is true, however he is in the Public Eye. I think people are more Concerned about his Plastic Surgery than anything else. I am a Prince fan but I'm not gonna Hate on Michael because I also like Michael too.

You gotta call 'em like U see 'em.
MJ is a weirdo. I don't care HOW much you may like his music, or his style, or his generosity...the man is a freak. Don't make excuses for his behavior...just take it at face value. If MJ was a janitor, a taxi driver or a salesman at Macy's...would you accept his actions? No you wouldn't!!! I am a big fan of Michael Jackson music...but the bleaching, the animals, the bleaching, the facial mutilation, the bleaching, the kiddie sleepovers, the bleaching and the fake Aryan children have really turned me off from Michael Jackson the man. Is Prince normal? HELL no! But his eccentricities are more in the range of the stereotypical "musical genius/rock star" than that of an insecure, self-deprecating pedophile like MJ. By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!
