I criticized his approach in an earlier thread, called him out for sampling and what not, but I admit I was wrong.

His best cd ever! Better than anything he did with The Tonies. Better than Lucy Pearl. Better than all of it. Easily the best soul album in the last 10 years. The best way i can describe the sound is 'lush'. Yeah it's a throwback, but it's all done with integrity. It feels like a compliment to the past, rather than a ham fisted excuse to turn a quick buck.


Great job Raphael! Congratulations for the artistic achievement! It's the high water mark of your career!

Everybody should go out and buy it.
