This song is "Turn Me Out" without the Whispers vocals basically, it's the basic Solar sound imo, I love it!!

Sounds like the Whispers.

If it sounds like the Whispers, there's a good reason:
The family's own brother Leon wrote and produced it, lol.

I'm more of a fan of another family group (Five Stairsteps) than the Sylvers, the Sylvers still own though as my Sylver game is on point ... Foster Sylvers solo joint. Funky. The Sylvers are like a bootleg Jacksons, granted they were way before my time, but that is the impression this young 'un got from her elders who were around them. And DeBarge came along them and OWNED them.

...
As an "oldhead", I always found the Sylvers' chords and harmonies more interesting than those of Both of the Jacksons and DeBarge---Just my opinion. I'm not referring to the bubblegum hits like "Hotline" and "Boogie Fever"...I mean stuff like below... "Fool's Paradise" and "Wish I Could Talk to You" alone made them a great family group. I think their earlier stuff was more adult than the stuff they would eventually be famous for.

X'actly!! Check 'em out on the acapella excerpt for the Beatles' "Yesterday": Just my opinion again, I think the problem was that they didn't have a Motown behind them--The Jacksons and Debarge at least had that benefit... ... ...
I know a lot of people complained about their '84 album, "Bizarre" and deservedly so for the most part, but I must admit, I did like these 3 tunes-- even though the mid 80's pop-synth beat thing was quite a departure from their usual sound....funny, the last tune, Let My Love Shine In was almost Beatle-esque...something different from Leon.... For me, nothing really compares to Sylvers I & II, but that's because I'm not completely ready to move on from those.
