Sounds like it worked a lot better than the London show. It was so bassy we couldn't hear her properly and hundreds of people left early.
Great pictures oh mama I wish I could resist ...

Glad you enjoyed it Mike - it certainly was an amazing show. i saw it last week at Wembley and i was awestruck. I saw her on the reinvention tour but this was far better. The setlist, the arrangements, the visuals, the choreography - it was just a fun, fun show - and the womans energy is absolutely incredible. I was watching it with a friend who runs marathons regularly - and he was in awe of her energy levels.
I can understand some of the criticism. we were right at the front of general admisison section, but had we been at the back the view would have been awful - as would the sound i guess. no shows like this should be put on in stadiums unless the organisers are going to go all out to make sure everyone gets value for money. they had 2 small screens in the whole venue - thats terrible. Despite some inconsistency in the flow of the setlist in the second half - i thought in all it was her best show this decade. Vogue - into the groove - Devil - la isla bonita - u must love me - like a prayer - ray of light were all my favourites. Cant wait for it to be televised. [Edited 9/15/08 15:22pm]

Not only is she preaching to her own crowd, so tp speak, but also the bad press this generates will get more votes for McCain. Madonna's stoopid.

I totally agree, and she's also stoopid for rubbing her fans, that are supporting McCain, the wrong way! Just like she should not hold a guitar, she should stay away from politics! All entertainers should back off from politics during their shows! This was one of the reasons why I always wanted to shoot Sting. The only one who can get away with it is Bono, and that's because.....he's Bono! [Edited 9/16/08 1:45am]

Four friends of mine went to the Lisboa show last Sunday too. They had a blast. I am not jealous though I went to see her in Barcelona in 2001 I think and I was not impressed, not my kind of show. I prefer my Madonna on cd.

Better than Re-Invention? Wow! How does this show compare to the 'Confessions Tour'? That show kicked my ass.I wanna see if she can top that one. I'm glad that she's playing an arena and not a stadium in my area.I'm not sure that I would want to see any concert in a massive stadium, unless I was in the front row...lol...She really should just stick to arenas. Despite some inconsistency in the flow of the setlist in the second half - i thought in all it was her best show this decade. Her best show of this decade?! That good, huh? Now I'm REALLY excited! Cant wait for it to be televised.
Is it really gonna be televised? Where?! When? I know that a few of the New York shows are gonna be filmed, but I assumed that it's for the DVD release.I also heard the DVD will also include a live CD (similar to the Confessions DVD set).

Well i never saw Confessions live - but i felt that the first 3 sections were definitely better than confessions. I always found the middle part of that show a little dull. The first and second sections are just totally solid - really entertaining. The third section while a little inconsistent has some fantastic performances. Devil is breathtaking - and La Isla Bonita is a total crowd pleaser. People started doing insane romanie gypsy dancing around us when that one was on. Even Doli Doli makes sense in the context of this section. In find the 4th section frustrating as Like A Prayer & Ray of Light are perfect - the crowd was in the palm of her hand at this point - and Give It 2 Me is an excellent Hi-NRG finale - but i find it an very inconsistent final set. The final set of confessions was perfect (Erotica / You thirll me is the highlight of the show for me) whereas i feel 4 Minutes has awful staging & choreography - and Hung Up just breaks the momentum. Had she gone into a stomping dance version of this the crowd would have gone nuts -but people were just a little baffled by the rock version (although it wasnt as horrendous as i thought it would be). As for the best this decade - maybe im just blinded by the high of actually going - but i didnt like DWT at all. Reinvention i really enjoyed but this blows that away in terms of energy, choreography & visuals. The opening / entrance is the weakest of the last few tours - but you dont care by the time shes on the stage. I love Confessions - but as I say the middle sections feel very weak to me - and i often skip them. I heard that the final show i being televised in Brazil - and the New York show is being filmed for the DVD. I heard shed done a deal with HBO for this.

Glad to hear you had a great time at the show. I saw her at Wembley last week with my little sister and it was her first time at a Madonna show to. Even though I was alot further away from the stage than I usually was, we both had an amazing time. Madonna is top class in terms of the show she put on.
And hearing the dance version/mash-up of Like Of Prayer was one of the greatest moments I've had at a concert!!! I can't even put it into words!!! www.filmsfilmsfilms.co.uk - The internet's best movie site!

Well, I can understand you... the Drowned World show wasn't that good... I preferred both the Confessions and Sticky & Sweet tours.... didn't see the Reinvention tour!
