MJ will spend millions of $ for a video, pardon, "short movie" to tell a "story"... it's not 1983 anymore. I thought last night aout that. MJ will have problems with the new status quo of MTV. Noone's gonna sit and watch a video that lasts longer than 4 Minutes... and exepnsive videos don't make money anymore.

Pedophilia issues aside, his other strange behaviour has been pretty off-putting for a lot of people too. The current generation -the ones who are the target market -don't know him as anything but as just some freak. That's a pretty big hurdle to jump.

Michael Jackson cannot bring back music videos because if he's in the video, all anyone will talk about is the way he looks. And, no. People have not gotten over it.

He's got a chance internationally, however. Just not in the United States. If he focuses on that and just says forget the U.S., he'll be fine. But, if he wants to regain his popularity in America, he's going to be disappointed.

Like I said before, I put one small picture of him as my avatar and got a heap of (American) posters saying how much they wanted him back.

It's been almost 4 years since the trial now and who knows, maybe his face has settled down a bit too? If he has an amazing stylist, innovative and creative music, maturity and a hot video, I really don't see where he can go wrong.

On another forum I'm joined to, I put one small picture of MJ doing the Smooth Criminal lean and you wouldn't believe the amount of private messages I got saying things like "I miss his videos!" "Your avatar makes me want MJ back!" "I love him!".

If you ask me, because pop has been SO bland this year, if there was ever a time for a comeback it'd be either end of the year or early next year.

You could also put it this way : standards are so low now, MJ could easily come back with a semi interesting video.
