They're definitely one of the dullest.

as he said in the recent henry rollins thread, modern rock is such utter shit - all life and soul is gone from it. Nickelback sums up the whole genre neatly. What the hell is WRONG with this country that people buy it up?

Ive heard The Long Road and All The Right Reasons and by god they are dull. I think they're capable of a decent ballad but their rock songs are appalling. They have the most boring rhythm section in rock music. Every song has that locked in almost suffocating feel to it. There's no swing or groove at all. The Long Road in particular was terrible.

They're pretty close. I'd say Creed and Barenaked Ladies are worse, though.

I'm not really a fan, but there are worse bands out there. They're just kinda generic and dull.

i think they're awful, but for some reason they are always on the charts selling a gajillion albums every week. what i want to know is, who is buying up all these nikelback albums? i don't know anyone who owns one. unless it's like fetish porn or something and everyone buys it and hides it under their mattress and nobody owns up to having it. but SOMEONE has to be buying all those nicklebark albums! CDs don't just buy themselves! though in this case, i wouldn't be surprised if somehow the nippleback albums raised the money to buy themselves so they could march to the nearest high bridge and end their misery. of course, that's just crazy talk. CDs can't walk or talk or have suicidal ideation. in fact - oh holy crap, i think i just heard something skitter under my bed, gotta go eek

YES one of the worst, but the bigger blame for them GRUNGE + EMO = NICKELBACK

but it's got that greasy faux metal like creed, where they're trying to be all bad-ass and inspirational at the same time. is nickelback christian rock? that would explain why they sell trillions of albums yet nobody i know owns one.

No, Nickelback is not the worst band out there. There are far worse bands performing these days. They're just bland and generic. They're the musical equivalent of comfort food; easy to consume, isn't offensive, goes down smoothly, but quickly forgotten afterward. In fact, most modern rock music from Simple Plan, Fall Out Boy, Good Charlotte, and Daughtry is the same way.

at least some of those bands are interesting to watch or at least look at. nickelback's music is just as boring as all those people you listed and on top of that, they're fug.

All of those bands are terrible too. And they don't go down easily at all and are downright offensive to these ears! If I have to watch that Simple Plan guy whine through another chorus, I think I'll break my TV!

Sorry, but they are terrible! "One Week"? "Pinch Me"? "If I Had a Million Dollars"? They might just be the most annoying band ever!

I think there must be some weird thing happening in Canada where any music recorded after 1990 sucks big time unless it's from Quebec.

At my place of employment when these guys (along with Slaughter ill) were big, we each used to bring in a CD on the shift and play it.

I learned to become very familiar with Garth Brooks, Trixter, Slaughter, and Ace of Bass. neutral

Of course, I subjected them to skinny puppy, Nine Inch Nails, Ministry, and Prince falloff

Oh, they're DARNED close. But I have to admit to owning "If Everyone Cared." It's excruciatingly corny, but I like the "Amen, I'm alive" line.

Ace of Bass?

I have to admit that I loved Trixter and Slaughter. I still have some cassette singles of theirs! I was a hair metal freak. boxed

I like If Everyone Cared and some of their videos are quite creative, especially Savin' Me.

But I'd never willingly listen to them.

And what the hell is wrong with THIS country that we promote and claim to be proud of these no-talent losers? Man, Canadian artists used to be something to be proud of. We went from Gordon Lightfoot and Joni Mitchell to fuckin' Nickleback and Avril Lavigne. confused

But comfort food is tasty and gives you a warm fuzzy feeling afterwards. Nickleback's more like bad burritos that give you the shits.
