Nas, Talib Kweli, and Jay Electronica in Dallas

I went last night. I'm not a big fan of any of the artists but it was a high energy show, well as high energy as a dude walking around the stage can be, but it was definitely entertaining for a Tuesday night. biggrin I love Talib's vibe love and Nas put on a good show headbang, but I was most surprised by Jay Electronica eek .

I didn't know any of his music before last night, I just know him as Erykah's baby daddy. lol That chile is sho nuf special he acted a fool. Erykah was in the house, of course, and he brought her out to rub on her belly and introduce her as his fiancee. eek Then he made a comment about punk muthafuckas saying shit on the internet but he wished they'd try that shit in person. lol

He rhymed a capella a lot which allowed you to really check his flow and I must say I was very impressed, brotha got skills. His subject matter is really varied and deep. And CalhounSq was right, he's actually cuter than those ugly ass pics posted on the other thread. But I was TOTALLY grossed out when he asked someone to throw up a blunt so he could hit it. Of course, the skinny white kid next to me threw a lit blunt on the stage. disbelief Which Jay picked up off the ground and proceeded to smoke. feeling ill barf Classy. Congratulations, Erykah, but that nucca couldn't kiss me with that mouth. shake

All in all good show. thumbs up!

lol Sounds like fun. Talib has great energy. I though Jay was decent-looking and definitely street walkable. The bit of rhyming I’ve heard from him was def on a different level. But I’m with you on the blunt thingy. neutral
