Well, there are many reasons why this could happen:

-Bad monitoring which makes it hard for her to hear herself and can't tell if she's out of tune.

-Her being drunk and not noticing.

-Not rehearsing/practicing enough before the show.

-Bad sound engineer.

-Her not knowing it's not a full playback with vocals, but that she needs to actually sing.

-Sound engineer who decided to turn on her mic when she was supposed to just lip sync (then she just sings to herself and doesn't need to be in tune).



Her previous shows were fine vocal wise, as far as I've seen, so we know she can sing (not perfect, but good enough to not kill the last dodo).

She actually sings the whole time but her mic is just turned down while the dat plays. They just turn it up when she talks. This is common practice with many artists - Janet, Rihanna, the list goes on and on.

Some sound guy just taped her turned down vocals. It's pretty funny, but I thought everyone knew that many artist like her do not sing live.

Britney's tours had complicated, exhausting choreography that she put her all into - her fans have never gone to her shows expecting live vocals - they expect the whole package - the song, amazing dancing, costumes, a spectacle.

She's a studio performer with a soft voice.
