Shakira is grossly overrated.She's an awful singer and her songs are watered-down Latin pop crap (like Ricky Martin's song "Livin La Vida Loca").Watch her videos,all she does is shake her ass and fling her hair around.And no,she's not that pretty either. | |

I doubt very seriously she had any control whatsoever in the choice or rejections of the songs for her English album, and certainly not "Whenever, Wherever", considering it was written by her boss's wife. I can only imagine what kind of contract that poor kid has with her record company (in terms of the albums required to finish out her deal with them as that particular couple has a NASTY business reputation). Luckily for the label she was able to cross over, because that label hasn't had a big hit with their resident English language artists in a while, so they needed SOMETHING to keep their hands in the big time pop music game. Lucky for her that she's been sucessful with this crossover thing, because at least she'll be able to go to the bargaining table with more leverage for the next album. Frankly, I'd much rather see her as the Shakira I used to listen to 6 or 7 years ago, who was basically a pretty, brunette, Spanish language folk/rock artist who did songs that were sensitive and reminiscent of a baby Alanis or Natalie Merchant. I don't know who this blond chick is supposed to be- they don't even let her play the guitar anymore, for God's sake! So distressing, but, unfortunately, it is business after all... | |

can't say she's hot per se...needs voice lessons, wardrobe coaching sessions, exfoliation and miss clairol...BUT i would give my sisters 2nd born child (love her first and only [ my niece ] too much to give her away) to have a body like hers...  you're only as old as you feel..............so how old do i feel
