Haven't heard it but the name Solange is just awful.
Her mothers a cruel lady rhyming her daughters name with the word 'flange'.

I dont mind it, though it was Amerie who did it first. The thing that bothered me was hearing Michelle Williams say "shes bringing out something fresh that no one elese is doing" is she fucking high? no one is doing? Michelle Williams needs to go back to singing bad gospel songs and shut up. I keep saying that what she's doing is nothing particularly "special" (without sounding overly hateful because I really like this dame) but to make it plain it was almost like listening to a Beyonce record (vocally) these are simply Auntie Bey blueprints that she let her lil sister have for this "fresh sound" they just added some tambourine I do give her props nevertheless love the album! because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."

are the words "solange" and "schlong" homonyms? I'm not mad at you, I'm mad at the dirt.

The beats are too fast though...
These producers make the beats too fast for these vocalists! [Edited 8/18/08 14:12pm]

When I heard this song the first thi nk I thought was, "someone liked Amy Winehouse" and decided to go even MORE commercial with it. I no like.

Damn, she has a cut with Bilal? I gotta scoop that then. I liked "I Decided". It was a good change for her. More mature sound for her. The 2nd single I'm not feeling though. But she's gone Neo Soul and I think that suits her pretty well. nWo: bboy87 - Timmy84 - LittleBlueCorvette - MuthaFunka - phunkdaddy - Christopher

Thank god Matronik has deemed to grace us with praise for this album. I threw out all my Madonna albums after he showed us what a whore she is and I've practically worn out my copy of Cyndi's new CD!

Saadiq's all over it. I slowed it down a little bit though: Prince has near perfect timing. The other producers...eh.. They seem so exclusive and insulated by staff that word never gets to them. I understand that a good number of folks want to send them demos, etc.. [Edited 8/19/08 9:04am]

I saw Solange's new video this morning and I forget what it's called, something about a Disco and it was actually pretty good and the video was cool too. In fact, she directed it. I might try to find a way to listen to the rest. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I'll be picking this up. She's the only Knowles I can stand. Since she'll never be a major uber mega pop diva, she'll probably take chances and do something interesting with her music. [Edited 8/19/08 12:23pm]

Where in the hell have soulshock & Karlin been. Those guys generally produce some dangerous as beats. Haven't heard from them since Heartbreak Hotel and the last tracie spencer cd. Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint

It is a good album...Definitely going to get my 10 bucks whenever it drops. She has a different sound...ain't radio friendly..but worthwhile none the less. A lot of growth from the last time we heard from her...Hope she has a long PRODUCTIVE career 1 over Jordan...the greatest since
