I am glad that I am not the only one who did not get the point of this message. "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really donĀ“t like the idea that he could have it all."

I think it must be because P played an MJ song in his jam session.
Don't know if that proves anything one way or the other though.

Im sure P and MJ have no beef. When Prince was here in NYC promoting Tamar in 2006, P and the band played "Don't Stop Till You Get Enough" and it was surreal seeing and hearing him sing the chorus as The Twinz sang the song. I've heard he even did Billie Jean during a soundcheck somewhere around 2002. Plus MJ went and saw Prince perform at 3121 Vegas last year, so it's obvious that they respect each other. [Edited 8/5/08 13:59pm] I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Is there any proof that there isn't any pork between the two of 'em, either?

I've never thought there was a beef between Prince and Michael Jackson. Hell, all the old fans (before "Little Red Corvette") know it was Prince vs. Rick James. Michael was only in the picture in 1979 and 1982 and inbetween that time he was recording with his brothers. Prince and Rick were at it every year and Rick hated Prince. Prince played innocent by not speaking but I think he enjoyed egging Rick on.
As for Michael though, the only reason I would even think of his name in the same thought as Prince's name, is because he obviously wants to be like Prince but ain't bad and grown enough to fully accomplish it. I mean, the lightening of the skin, the straightening of the hair, the naming of not one, but two sons, after Prince (yeah, I've heard that excuse that he wants people to believe about his grandfather ), the opened lace shirt in the "You Are Not Alone" video (with no chest hairs to turn anyone on ). There's no beef there, that's just jealousy, that's all. Oops.....here come the Michael Jackson fans coming after me with water guns. Wait a minute....a "super soaker". . . . Ofcourse theres no beef between them. Why would they be beefin'. Some people think I'm kinda cute

I don't believe there was ever a beef. I believe there is this unwritten rule, be it in the music industry or even the modeling industry that there is only room for one sucessful Black artist at the top. I love both MJ and Prince, and except for race, there is no commonality between the two. I didn't understand the so called "feud" in the 80's and I don't get it now. This was someething the media created to sell more papers and magazines and the public bought into the false hype.
