Pebbles singing "Giving You The Benefit" on Arsenio

Man, as much as I love some of her stuff, she was a horrible performer.

Agreed. She was VERY sexy and I had a major crush on her razz but she had NO stage presence at all.A very weak performer.

43 people on stage and that was still a stiff, dull performance. lol Love the song, but...

I also think that this is one of LA and Babyface's weakest songs.Around this time, they were giving much stronger songs to artists like Sheena Easton and Karyn White.

Not necessarily true. Sheena Easton's "The Lover In Me" and Pebbles' "Always" came out in 90. If you listen to both of these projects (at least to the LA and Face work), you will find that the material is pretty similar. Their powerhouse project of 1990 was Johnnie Gill's solo project.

I like The Lover in Me too, but that was 1988.

lol

After listening to a lot of stuff they did from 89 - 92, you are so right. The uptempo stuff was remixes of On Our Own.

Nope. That's my #5 Babyface song of all time. It's absolutely perfect.

Pebbles main performance was just being sexy. She was great at that! woot!

Well, LA did (I think Face did also). lol
After all, she did co-write Whip Appeal.

Well spotted. I never noticed that. Seems she did do something worthwhile after all.

Yes, that's a recurring theme around these parts. They're certainly similar. I love both, but I think the Pebbles song is better.
