Timbuk 3 There's been a periodic appearance of a certain "type" of musical duo (White Stripes and now The Ting Tings specifically).
It reminded me of the 80s duo Timbuk 3 whose rhythm section consited of a tape played through a boombox... ...The Future’s So Bright (I Gotta’ Wear Shades) (The original video followed by a live performance of the tune) My contribution to Dance's harmonica=kazoo fixation. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. Me either.... Interesting.... They may have expanded into a full band later on but initially it was just the 2 of them and a boombox. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

I remember Timbuk 3. All of their albums got high praises, but I think they were just a tad off the mainstream to really be big. If they had come out in the 90's when that music was being embraced, they might have made a good dent. I have always been interested in them and they have always intrigued me as a band, but I never sought them out. Christian Zombie Vampires
