SONG TITLES that (seemingly) have NOTHING to do with the song itself... you like the irony/ creativity? or you think its pompus.
Do you think song titles should be sung in the song itself? what are some of your favorite/ least favorite of these? of those songs, could you think of a better, more related song title?

I'm confused. Do you mean song titles that aren't present in the lyrics? I like those! I think the majority of New Order and Joy Division songs are like that! Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

If you read the lyrics as a poem with the song title being the name of the poem, it can give it a bit of context sometimes.

D'Angelo calling his hit "Untitled" made no sense to me since it had a very obvious hook line.
I was glad when (How Does It Feel) appeared in brackets on the song title, on the new best of D.

Now that I think of it (How Does It Feel) always appeared in parentheses, even on the debut tracklist right?

don't know how they fit in the context of the lyrics, sorry. The phrase 'the reflex' is in 'The Reflex.' P.M. Dawn's 'Untitled.' [Edited 7/30/08 20:40pm] I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

And it's another example of just what a clever bastard Prince is when it comes to lyrics. “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

don't know how they fit in the context of the lyrics, sorry. The phrase 'the reflex' is in 'The Reflex.' And "union of the snake" also appears in that song's lyrics. FWIW, the "union of the snake" (so to speak) is how the chemist Kekulé discovered the structure of benzene. It's alleged that he dreamt of a snake that catches its own tale, which led to him suggesting the compound is a ring. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

Rainy Day Women #12 and #35 by Bob Dylan
Basically the "Everybody must get stoned" song. Quite clever of Dylan because he makes it clear that the song is something more than just about getting stoned.
