The Makings Of You Curtis Mayfield's The Makings Of You I think is one of the most beautiful ballads ever written. I rediscoverd it, and now I listen to it non stop. It really is a great song. I dig the strings and the horns with the singing melody.
It has that romantic feel. It's one of his best in my opinion. Mayfield is a wonderful songwriter. And he will never be forgotten. He has some classics from the 70's that will live on forever. Pusherman, Superfly ect. The Makings Of You is up there as well; I love this song. What is yall's take on this song? Some people think I'm kinda cute

Classic. I love the live version from "CURTIS LIVE!" where it's just him and the guitar. You can barely hear the band because it's so laid back. One of his best. | |

Beautiful song that really sets the mood  .
