Vinyl dig Went on a vinyl dig this weekend,I bought a total of 16 albums! Found some rare stuff that I've been looking for,at unbelievable prices. Some of these albums were only $1.....yes,I said one dollar! Here are some of the albums I found:

a rundown of the albums I bought....
***George Benson 'Livin Inside Your Love' (1979)---this is a 2-record set and I paid only $1 for it Contains his hit remake of L.T.D.'s "Love Ballad" but I'm not familiar with the other tracks. Can't wait to explore this album. ***Narada Michael Walden 'Awakening' (1979)---I thought of Paligap when I found this one Based on his recommendation,I'm excited about hearing this album. ***Narada Michael Walden 'The Dance Of Life' (1979)---also can't wait to get into this album.Contains the disco/R&B hit "I Shoulda Loved Ya". ***Ray Parker Jr. 'After Dark' (1987)---this is arguably his best solo album and it proved to be a late-80s comeback for him.Contains the two hits "I Don't Think That Man Should Sleep Alone" and "Over You",a superb duet with Natalie Cole. ***Andre Cymone 'AC' (1985)---back in the day,I had this on cassette. It's so good to finally have it on vinyl. This is my favorite Andre Cymone album. The entire Side One is incredible. And yes,the Prince-written "Dance Electric" is here too. ***Con Funk Shun 'Candy' (1979)---I almost jumped for joy when I found this one I'm determined to find every Con Funk Shun album on vinyl and I'm off to a great start. ***Con Funk Shun 'To The Max' (1982)---This just might be their best 80s album, containing jams like "Ms Got The Body","Ain't Nobody Baby" and the Quiet Storm favorite "Love's Train". ***Linda Clifford 'If My Friends Could See Me Now' (1978)---I bought this album mainly for the hit single "Runaway Love" ***Raydio 'Raydio' (1978)---Funkpill and Vainandy know how much I wanted this album, lol.I've been searching for it for awhile now! I now have all of the Raydio albums. ***The Spinners 'Pick Of The Litter' (1975)---I'm in the process of collecting all of the Spinners albums. This was their biggest album. ***The Spinners 'Happiness Is Being With The Spinners'(1976)---The last album they recorded with lead singer Philippe Wynne, who left soon thereafter.Contains the full-length extended version of "Rubberband Man". ***Peaches and Herb '2 Hot' (1978)---in case you haven't noticed, most of the albums I bought are from the late 70s That's my favorite era.Albums like this one make up the soundtrack of my youth. ***Evelyn Champagne King 'Smooth Talk' (1977)---her excellent debut album. ***Heatwave 'Hot Property' (1979)---I found this album several months ago,but I bought an additional copy this past weekend. This album is so rare,I wanna have more than one copy.I can't believe that this album wasn't as big as their first two albums. It's equally impressive, imo. ***Rebbie Jackson 'Centipede' (1984)---the song "Centipede",written and produced by her brother Michael,is one of my favorites! I don't know if the rest of the album is any good, but it's worth it just for the title track.Interestingly, this album contains a remake of Prince's "I Feel For You".I wonder if her version is better than Chaka's,whose version also came out in '84. ***Maze featuring Frankie Beverly 'Live In New Orleans' (1981)---this is one of those albums that I've been wanting to buy,but never got around to it.I found a brand new, sealed copy.

good dig!!! Andre Cymone I'm soooo dying to find his solo works... and that girl group (Vanity 6 clone) that he produced I used to have Pick Of The Litter on vinyl also "Games People Play" is one of my favorite songs EVER so this George Benson "Living Inside Your Love" is this the same song Earl Klugh (with Patti A. & nem on BG vox) did for this album? (I've heard it sampled somewhere a Roc-A-Fella project maybe?) that MAZE live one is a gem I remember seeing that vinyl at my cousin's house back in the late 90's and them telling me the story of how they went to that concert & all and Aisha has told me so much about that Narada album I've seen it a couple times but won't willing to pay the price they wanted like $10 bucks for it it was mint condition... I think I wanna hear it first because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."

DirtyChris said: so this George Benson "Living Inside Your Love"
is this the same song Earl Klugh (with Patti A. & nem on BG vox) did for this album? (I've heard it sampled somewhere a Roc-A-Fella project maybe?) It's the same tune. Earl's superior version was sped up and looped for "Pain" by 2pac (Above The Rim soundtrack).

That's closer to your Roc-a-fella mindgarden. Besides, 2pac's output has been recompiled so many times, who knows which 2pac album you heard it on.

Nice picks "I".
Questions out of curiosity: Were these sealed copies? (I know some record stores...(cough, Tower)...used to have "resealing" machines in the back) What condition were the records in when you played them (scratches)? tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. Well he did mention "unbelievable prices" (1$ albums?), which leads me to think that they are probably no better than VG or VG+. An interesting side note; I've noticed that records in my local record stores are usually in far better overall condition compared to the ones I've bought online and had shipped to me from the States It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

I just happened to see this one in operation with my own eyes via a friend who worked in one of their stores. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. No,these records weren't sealed except for the Frankie Beverly and Maze 2-LP set, which was brand new.The other records are in great condition, for the most part.No major scratches or anything.

***Ray Parker Jr. 'After Dark' (1987)---this is arguably his best solo album and it proved to be a late-80s comeback for him.Contains the two hits "I Don't Think That Man Should Sleep Alone" and "Over You",a superb duet with Natalie Cole. Oh no, you can have that one. I've got Ray's solo album "Woman Out Of Control" which is pretty good and the 45's "The Other Woman", "Let Me Go" and "Bad Boy". I'm thinking about getting "The Other Woman" album the next time I see it or maybe the album after that which contained "Bad Boy" and "The People Next Door". I can't mess no late 80s though....horrible, horrible times. What I really want is the 12 Inch version of the song "The Other Woman". Do you remember that one? Now that one is rare. ***Andre Cymone 'AC' (1985)---back in the day,I had this on cassette. It's so good to finally have it on vinyl. This is my favorite Andre Cymone album. The entire Side One is incredible. And yes,the Prince-written "Dance Electric" is here too.
Check out "The Book Of Love"..... Once a friend came to me and asked me if I knew the way He said his woman stepped out and he really thinks he's turning gay So I took him by the hand and I looked him right in the eyes I said falling in love with a man ain't no surprise Those lyrics are right up my alley. ***Raydio 'Raydio' (1978)---Funkpill and Vainandy know how much I wanted this album, lol.I've been searching for it for awhile now! I now have all of the Raydio albums.
That's the album I'm looking for also. Andy is a four letter word.
