Madonna should be professional.

When we hire someone for an event, we pay all costs associated with that event, i.e. tux rental, courier, parking, etc.

As much as I enjoy her at this particular stage of her life, you know what? Fuck Madonna.

I don't believe he should have paid his own rental. That's her own fault for blurring the boundaries between his business responsibilities and his familial responsibilities. Paying that rental was the least she could do. She shafted him enough financially as it is. I don't care if they were siblings or not, or perhaps that was the problem to begin with. I can think of a zillion scenarios where powerful clients for whatever reason, use the fuck out of their employees and are always leaving them in the lurch, so I have no sympathy for Madge in this. I understand this was a wedding and a family member, and yes the lines are pretty muddled because of personal history. But having the NERVE to shaft someone on a job with an amount due on an invoice, then pay the balance with a fucking airplane TICKET? And not even give the person the choice what the ticket is for and what destination? What the fuck is THAT? That doesn't even REMOTELY happen in the professional world. Clients get SUED for that kind of shit. The idea someone would do that to a FAMILY MEMBER only adds insult to injury

To begin with you do not pay an invoice with anything but DOUGH, unless there are trade conditions previously agreed upon by both parties, period. Second, the fact that she coerced him into going to that wedding in the in any event, I don't see why she would try to pass the rental bill off on him, simply out of principle...otherwise, being that she closed an invoice by making him attend that wedding, it's almost like he was in attendance as an employee instead of a sibling. The way I see it is that if you settle an account giving the person you hired no choice for remittance other than to attend one of your events, then I'm sorry, but you've basically just put them "on the clock" ...and news-fa-LASH...in the fine and creative arts, when you are on the clock, and you have to go to a "location" to perform your duties, from the moment you step outside of the fucking door, en route, get to the gig, do your time, and get back to your front door, THIS IS ON THE CLIENT's DIME, except for incidentals.

...and don't give me that bullshit that he should have been more understanding because that's his sister. There was nothing sisterly about the way she settled her bill for the services he rendered. I'm with Laura and SCNDLS on this one, I don't think the man's criticism of his sister is completely unwarranted..

...that's still ma girl, though ...and yes I think the book would actually make good beach reading...although I'll be waiting until I can get it used on Amazon
