Debby Harry - Kookoo

I've had this cd for a while but i'm just now really getting into it. It's pretty cool with a mix of new wave, rock and funk. I like Backfired, Military Rap, Surrender. Anyone else like this album?? I heard it wasn't received well when it came out.

I bought it when it came out, because it was produced by Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards and I liked it a lot. I don't have it on CD, so it's been a while since I played it. I remeber liking Backfired and JumpJump. Coincidentally I am going to see Blondie for the first time on july 16th.

I still have my vinyl copy. The cover totally freaked me out as a kid. I like Backfired a lot (there's a 12-inch version of it that's worth tracking down too), but the rest of the album didn't wow me. I can listen to Debbie's voice sing almost anything, so it was cool, but it's not as good as it should be.

I don't really like this album. neutral It's been a long while since I heard it so I may give it another shot some time, but I dunno. I thought for sure that Nile Edwards + Debbie Harry would knock my socks off. It was a let down for me.

I love Koo Koo. The whole thing is very strange, but very appealing to me. It's definitely my favorite of her solo albums, and I rock it on CD, cassette AND vinyl! headbang

I don't know. After the brilliance of her earlier work, it just didn't grab me. But I have to admit that, other than Backfired, I haven't listened to it in a really long time. I'll give it another listen and see what I think of it.

By the way, I saw Debbie walking up 8th Ave. (in NYC) on Tuesday. She looked good.

I didn't think the CD was that rare- it's usually one of the only Debbie solo CDs that I see around! It has a "Backfired" 12" version as a bonus track as well!

It's not like it was only available in Japan.. I was using that link to exaggerate.

But it DOES go for $45.00 on Amazon. shrug
