Strawberry Letter 23 by Brothers Jonson I totally 4 got about this 70's classic ! I just downloaded it and 4 got how damn cool it is ! I have played it like 4 times in a row and will be stuck on it all night !!!  I was just informed that some guy named Shuggie Otis did the original,so will have 2 look 4 that next 2 compare !? PEACE.....It does not mean 2 be in a place where there is no noise,trouble,or hardwork.It means 2 be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart !  | |

Shuggie's version is awesome, but so is the Bros. Johnson version. I have a hard time deciding which one I like more. | |

One of the GREATEST songs ever written. Period. I have the lyrics framed and hanging on my wall. I've written at least two threads about this song on here in the past. Love Shuggie's version cuz he wrote it but I can't front with this. Bros.Johnson's version is the one. With Lee's cold guitar part on it, they did a great job covering a great song. Awesome song. I always try to listen to the lyrics and figure out what it's about but it's so easy to get lost in the song. Reminds me of the first place I heard it....on the "Jackie Brown" soundtrack. I've been hearing "Natural High" a lot lately, too. That soundtrack is awesome and the movie is maybe my favorite of all time. | |

I'm listening to the Shuggie Otis version right now for the first time, having learned of its existence through this thread. It's amazing that I like this version as well, but I can see the spin that The Brother's Johnson took it on. Kudos to the songwriter, beautiful job well done. What a spellbinding tune!  | |

As I recall, Louis Johnson used Strawberry Letter #23 as his wedding song.
It's a great cut, love the original and the Bros. version. It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.
