2 stone cold classics nod

I always get a chuckle out of how similar "I Found My Baby" is to "Oustanding." Still a good song, but damn! lol

I love "Yearning For Your Love". I wouldn't call "Outstanding" a ballad though. More like midtempo in the days before midtempo completely took over everything and became sickening. As for another slow jam by The Gap Band, I love "I Can't Get Over You".

I love all those, but a special love to "Lonely Like Me"! I swear, that is the best "we wrote the lyrics on a napkin and had plenty of space left" song in the history of music! dancing jig

You don't me, and
I don't know you, but
Let's get together,
The night is young and we're so free
When I first looked in your eyes,
I could tell that you were lonely like me
Two people wandering, looking,
Searching for a fantasy

I could tell you're lonely just like me
If you really love me, let me see
I could tell you're lonely just like me
Two people wandering, looking,
Searching for a fantasy

I just discovered that one a few months ago and love it. I've had the album all these years but that was one that I never played until recently.

I consider it a ballad, but even if somebody gave me definitive evidence that it wasn't, it wouldn't change my opinion that it's a great song. It does feel like that dreaded midtempo that Andy loathes. lol

I never knew they issued this 12 inch on the mercury label.
I had Gap Band IV on Lonnie Simmons Total Exprerience label
distributed by polygram.
These songs are classics. I liked every track on gap IV.

Yeah, or more specifically it's like some hybrid that people can choose to groove to it or move a little slower. Another song that comes to mind as one of those hybrids is The System's "Don't Disturb This Groove."
