I'm Every Woman - Chaka Khan's Original Version I'm listening to this song right now and I am struck with how powerful Chaka's voice really is. For those of you with the song handy, listen in particular to this part:
2:33 - 2:42 "I've Got it, I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-v'e got it yeah" Especially at 2:40 - 2:42. The way she sings the word "yeah" at the end, WOW! Her voice is as powerful as a runaway train but it's very controlled at the same time. You can tell that she aint even giving it all she's got. I'm so amazed by her voice and this is an excellent example of why she is one of my all time favorites. 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

Chaka Khan while with Rufus is the vintage material. Fierce. This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

I Agree all the way on that 1.as a Solo Artist more often than not Her Producers have had Her Voice all over the place¬ quite get it right.Even Prince was quoted as saying He didn't like How some of Her Producers handled Her Vocal Tracks over the Years&Solo Albums.mistermaxxx

My favorite is "Stop on By". But anything by Chaka featuring Rufus from the 70's is great. However, Chaka my girl and all, but in concert she, well... let's just say I was quite disappointed. But she still my girl. I love Chaka.
