Katy Perry is really bad! The most boring album I heard this year. So full of cliché! The only song that survives is Ur so gay...a pure novelty song!

Yeah its very "gimmicky" and wannabe 80's, down to covering the Outfield's "your love" and changing the lyrics around making it "Use your love" and trying to turn it into a trashy sexy song, but her sexiness is too forced and made up. The "i kissed a girl" song is a "Kiss of death" song for her, because its a catch phrase and you know everyone is going to be saying it for about six months and then everyone will deny it and wish she was off the planet. Ive seen this movie before. Just give me more Cassie demos, (30 so far) at least she knows her limits and doesnt really care and doesnt go around the country like shes hot shit, except looks wise. I haven't heard the whole album. But I like U R So Gay and I Kissed a Girl. Yes, they're a little gimmicky but I think they are fun catchy songs. Not everything has to be art.

Ironically most of her music isnt anything like this song, so people im sure will drop her in a second, she cut a christian album in 2001, and even her other songs are acoustic and folky so i do see her getting alot more top 40 play, top 40 does not really welcome "playing". I hear "I Kissed A Girl" at least once a day, randomly via radio or anywhere where speakers are mounted.
That and the new Kid Rock song, the "Sweet Home Alabama" with Billie Jean drums.

You and me both. How can one not get the urge to puke after hearing that mess? I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Actually, I don;t think "I Kissed A Girl" is a bad song; it's sort of catchy and has a nice hook to it. I do think it's one of those songs that I could hate with a passion if it gets overplayed, which is likely to happen this summer just like Fergie's "Big Girls Don't Cry" was played to death everywhere last summer. Plus now every porno slut and online pervert is going to splice together a compilation video of every lesbian porn scene to that song to upload on YouTube and all the other pornotube video sites.
