I find that as more time goes on that history has a way of re-writing itself because of rumors/stories/conjecture.

While I eat up all of this Motown lore, I put as much faith in it as I do the docu-drama on the Tempts. It seems to have been written with a single person wearing rose colored glasses.

As far as the Mob in Detroit, the Purple Gang were jewish but that ended in the early 1930s, it's been Italian ever since. This much has been documented and confirmed by people I know.
