actually Rod Temperton produced, along with Narada Michael Walden and a few others...

This was a decent Hancock album I liked about half of it.
I always thought this song was rather lazily done.

Didn't realize how much Narada could sound like Q until someone posted a song by some woman a few days ago... don't recall her name.

To me,this is the BEST song that Steely Dan never recorded.

It has all the makings of a good Steely Dan song. One of Herbie's best!

It IS very Steely Dan, isn't it? I would have thought it was Donald singing if I had to guess at it.

The vocal arrangement really made me believe it was Quincy. Nevertheless, it's a nice mellow groove.

lol naw, I have the album, ...It credits Rod Temperton as producer, arranger and writer, and Narada producing afew tracks , but no Quincy.
Rod Temperton was Quincy's favorite collaborator in the late 70's early 80's though....

Temperton wrote or co-wrote and helped arrange all those hits Like Razzmatazz, Give Me the Night, Star Of A Story, Love X Love, Off The Wall, Rock With You, Stomp, Always and Forever, Boogie Nights, Aint No Half-Steppin',etc....

I'm gonna have to talk to those dudes over at 4 Brothers, lol

I just gave this album a once-through and I really like it. Granted, I've only got a couple of Herbie's albums, but this album doesn't sound a lot like the material of his I'm more familiar with. The first thing that comes to mind for me is EWF. It's not a bad thing, but it's a different sound. I like it a lot.
