Good morning you funky children. Is anyone 'digging' the tunage of the young Australian Sam Sparro? It's quite a booty shakin' album if I do say so. The single 'Black and Gold' being the highlight I reckon. Any takers?

I made the very first Sam Sparro thread about 7 months ago. I LOVE the album, but it has some flaws. The original mix of "Clingwrap" is WAAAY better than the new mix that's on the album. The Soulwarrior's mix of Sally is pretty cool.

I've had his "Euphoric/Samsparro" EP since November or December and it was in heavy rotation until the album came out

My favorite songs are "Sick" and "Waiting For Time"

i listened to this yesterday.

it starts out nice. but i think there are too many songs. it just seems to go on and on and on. and i like his voice, but the whole thing just reminds me of Taco for some reason.

Yeah, he's pretty cool, even if he does sound like a Prince clone. But hey, I'll take a Prince clone over the other crap that's out these days. I might've said this before, but I think his voice reminds me of Jermaine Jackson. Otherwise, he's got some pretty funky tracks.

Sam Sparro is awesome and a very clever individual too - he deserves all the props he gets.

I dont usually but whole albums of artists unless I respect the material and I loved "Black and Gold" - which is a far cry from what the rest of the album does... which is just PLATINUM!

Clingwrap sounds like a cross between The Time and Cameo with his distinctive vocal!
