She could be anyone's library monitor, what was it with huge framed glasses, Deirdre style perms and hideous striped outfit. This look was very popular c.1980-82. It would be interesting to see what she actually sung. Some of those religious covers are just tacky.

She looks like Tootsie lol

I love that album cover. When I saw it in the record store, I couldn't stop staring at it. Everytime someone would walk up, I would put it down. Finally, I bought the damn thing, mainly so I could stare at the cover in private for as long as I wanted to. Oh, the music on the album is good too. lol

Hmm, not really. My ex-girlfriend's German, so it isn't that he's German. Germany has a history that extends thousands of years into the past; they brought about the end of the Roman empire, and produced some of the world's greatest philosophers, artists, engineers, scientists, and musicians.

In this video, my first impression was that Heino looked like the U.S. stereotype of German men with the bright, blond hair; the song is very evocative of German music played whenever you hear it in the movies e.g. Wagner classical music. The man also has a very deep voice, but the more I see the video, the more it seems like a classic, good-time sing-along.

My apologies to Heino and his fans. He's all right.

Well I can understand that you had that association. He looks extremely stereotypical German and he pronounces in a way that is kinda old fashioned. Also the lyrics are well it's difficult to explain old fashioned in a way that you might associate with Nazi Germany and he has been critisized of that more than once. So I was not really surprised by your assumption. And I doubt that any Heino fan ever reads this thread here giggle.

Best German band ever razz Although their 2nd album did have a pretty silly cover, and when you looked at all the pictures of them carefully they used kitchen utensils to make their weird "mask" thingamajigs

My avatar, besides the cheapness of it, there about 900 different patterns and color schemes going on that would kill a HD TV.

falloff I don't know why but this guy looks like he could be a character from one particular local sketch show called Fóstbræður. When they were on the air, they loved to mock all kinds of stereotypes, especially involving Russians and Germans. They were very politically INcorrect. lol
To give you an example, here's their take on a Russian sitcom:

They even had "Hitler" doing karaoke, singing, amongst others, "Ebony And Ivory" lol
