THE CURE! I had the grand pleasure of seeing The Cure for the first time, and I went from being a regular fan to a BIG fan!
They were amazing - a 3-hour show and 4 encores for an LA crowd at the Hollywood Bowl last Saturday (amidst rumors Smith had been ill with a cold) They mix up their set lists night after night and do not ever do a repeat show -playing hits as well as some not-so-well-known fan favorites. Here's one of the new songs Freak Show that I quite enjoyed... and Robert actually danced here! Anyone else see (or seeing) them this time around? VOTE....EARLY

their last album lost its lustre for me fast. there was just something a little too...comfortable sounding...about it. sure, it was mopey, but it was the mopings of a very rich man who has his legend status secured as an alternative rock icon, and that's who robert smith sounds like on their last album. which, hey, that's great. good for him. but i need more anguish from my cure, please. it took me a long time, but i finally came to really like bloodflowers. i think within the context of the pornography/disintegration/bloodflowers trilogy idea, that album really came together for me.

I think that anyone who was a fan from the 80s onward would enjoy this current tour. And in this age of internet posting set lists... it was refreshing to be surprised at what they might play since he mixes it up so much. VOTE....EARLY
