Its Hard To Believe This Album Is 10 Years Old....!!!!! Wow!
Scary, VERY scary how the years flew by. I swear I remember the day where I stood in front of Tower Records before it opened, @ the day of the album release. I knew I couldn't wait to go back home, so I brought the walkman with me. Bought the shit and listened to it FULLY.... I still remember the goose bumps I felt the 1st time I heard the album's opening lines... It's funny how money change a situation Miscommunication leads to complication I'll NEVER as long as I live 4get how hyped I felt that morning, I was on the verge of acting the damn fool. I miss those days....

I miss those days.... I hear ya...I had just started working at the Virgin Megastore in the summer of '98 and I remember when this came in the Monday before and I cracked one open to listen to! I could not wait... Those were the days..1998 and working at Virgin is when my musical horizons really broadened....groups like Daft Punk, Air, Portishead...I would have never bothered listening to if I didnt work there...some other greats from '98 were... Garbage - 'Version 2.0' --I still listen to this album! Every song is a winner Madonna - 'Ray of Light' --A great era for her... Air - 'Moon Safari' --beautiful beautiful album Whitney Houston --'My Love Is Your Love' --her best album..hands down Shakira -- 'Donde Estan Los Ladrones' --her best album hands down!!!!! Gloria Estefan - 'Gloria' --Non stop Miami disco...I lost weight to this album! Alanis Morrisette - 'Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie' --great album so many more I cant even think of...but man...it was a fun year! ... Every minute of last night is on my face today....

I remember the excitement I used to feel when one of my favorite artists released a new album. In the 80s,I wasn't able to sleep the night before a new Prince album came out I really miss those days.
As for 'Miseducation'....I bought it the week it was released. That album is a masterpiece....one of the few truly brilliant albums of the 90s.

Good times, good times...
Since their duet on this album, D'Angelo has released a studio album and Lauryn hasn't. Now that's slow... "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

Probably the last contemporary R&B album I was interested in. Man, time is flying. “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

Me too. I had been waiting for her to make something as good as this again, but it's yet to happen and I have lost hope. This was such a damn good album. www.maximum-jackson.com

I loved how she kept it raw, the flat notes and imperfect harmonies. I remember when she said in an interview that she kept it that way inspite of encouragement to polish it. She wanted to capture the moment, the emotion.
1998 was actually a fairly exciting time in music, for me at least. I'm sick and tired of the Prince fans being sick and tired of the Prince fans that are sick and tired!

One element in Mis-Education that keeps it different from anything else @ the time; sincerity. She wore her heart on her sleeve, thats what people kept trying to capture in their music but failed.
