No Parking On the Dance Floor and the Planetary Invasion albums are must-haves.
Their earlier and later stuff was also good but Planetary Invasion is my favorite Midnight Star album.

I hated it. In fact, I didn't even buy it. I strictly bought the 12 Inch of "Engine No. 9".



Yeah, they got better with that album. I love "Snake In The Grass". It's a hard jam like "Freak-A-Zoid". I also like "Pamper Me" which is a synthy type jam that sounds like it was influenced by the Minneapolis Sound that a lot of groups were doing at that time. I didn't care for "Don't Rock The Boat" at all though.

I had heard the song "Headlines" and didn't care for it. I had also heard the song "Midas Touch" and didn't care for it too much either. When I heard "Engine No. 9" which was faster and funkier, I bought the 12 Inch rather than the album.

As for "Work It Out", I don't have that album. I had never heard of Midnight Star until "Freak-A-Zoid" came out. I do have the song "Work It Out" on their Anniversary CD and I like it.

I do recall Midnight Star having a new single on the radio from a new album in 1989 but it didn't do well and I never heard it again. Same with Cameo, I remember hearing a new single from them in 1989 also and never heard it again.

I never liked the song "Headlines" either.Didn't really care for the hip-hop sound that they were aiming for in that song.

Best songs IMHO were the title track and Get Dressed.

Same here.I didn't like it for the same reason I didn't like the "Headlines" song.....didn't care for the hip-hop elements that they were using.They didn't need to mess around with rap,they already had a cool,distinctive sound.
