She has a starring role in a new movie.I'm surprised there hasn't been a thread about it.I read the movie review in my local newspaper several weeks ago.I guess it's a small independent film.

Norah and i go way back in terms of the clubs. She and a host of others were all making the rounds here in NYC really just doing the typical NYC thing of playing shows and selling your cds at the show. In fact her "first sessions" cd was a $5 cd for about a year and than when she "blew" up to the mainstream, that cd was going for a few hundred dollars on ebay. But the others with her, like Adam Levy, Richard Julian, jesse Harris and many more, are all part of a NYC movement that started way before people caught on to Norah. her work with Charlie Hunter, Wax Poetic and PeterMalick should be on everyones list of things to hear. Along with Ryan Adams, she is the most important artist of this decade, screw Beyonce. I adore Norah Jones and she gets better every with every album. Why Not Too Late didn't get great reviews i don't know. It was the most bluesy thing she did and miles ahead of her debut.

And your point? If you dont know the NYC club scene, and i mean real clubs not the bogus ones that play hip hop bullshit with the trendy "white girls" from South Carolina who think they are NYC, but Norah was long before "Blue Note" picked her up, and basically saved themselves from Bankruptcy, her work here dates back to 1996 and my first of 21 shows seeing her before she was signed, was when she opened for "Joan Rivers" at Joe's Pub, and then we all sat at the bar and talked about the real "artists".
