Dave and the boys come through again.

Just picked up the new 2 cd set from Dave Matthews band/Live at Folsom Field for $12.88 at Target. Very good. Also comes with vol.16 of the fan club info and all sorts of stuff to buy (including music). I know some of you have this anti-dave thing for some reason, which is fine with me. You don't have to like anything except the business aspect. Just a note to say his double cd set is $12.88, triple set would be what? $15-$18?

not $50

I am a Prince fan first but sometimes it is so hard to be. He makes everything so hard when it really doesn't need to be. Make cds, sell to the public via retail or your website, charge a reasonable price, period.

pleeese, its that easy.

Amen to your last paragraph, but Dave Mathews? I would need to be paid $12.88 to bring that cd home.

What is this, his 20th live CD? He's only been around for 8 or 9 years! Unless he changed his sound, a la Prince or Sting, this has gotta be just more of same. It must be awfully bland sometimes to be a fan of Dave. That's why this set was that cheap. Somehow people have got to justify buying more live Dave stuff. Whereas a 3 CD Prince live set is not only a rarity in his career, but also something that would blow away most anyone else's live sets.

I must admit I do enjoy Dave's studio albums- not one of my favorite groups though. Before these Crowded Streets would probably be on my top ten list!

Funny, I think he releases these live shows just for the fans, and thats real important. There are live songs that have not been release before live. And its a cheap filler to put out in between studio cds.

And Prince fans are just the same, they seem to buy from me only the shows that they, themselves attend. So I guess Dave thinks that if everyone who attended the folsom show, buys a cd of the show, he will be a rich man. Just like all the other live cds he has put out. Each person wants a copy of 'their own' show.

People write me all the time just for certain Prince shows, the Chicago show, the NY show, etc. When its one compilation cd from the whole entire tour, you know its been tinkered with, you know it's not a certain show from a certain venue.
