Do you still listen to Björk's Volta?

I do. Some songs have become classics for me like Hope and Declare independence.

hadn't heard it in a minute
need to upload that to the ZUNE as well

I have a disc full of shit like
Bjork, Roisin Murphy (I know I spelled it wrong LOL)
Blonde Redhead, etc etc...

I KNEW something
was missing from my
"shuffle aura"

cool
"be who you are and say what you feel
because those who mind don't matter
and those who matter don't mind."

there's stuff by other people right now that's making me feel the way i did when bjork's first few albums first came out and hearing her was an event and i was still able to connect with what she was doing and it was still fun.

i still love bjork and i appreciate that she keeps going "out there", but i have to be in the right mood for her music anymore, whereas i'm enjoying stuff by other artists that i can enjoy under much more diverse circumstances. not a harsh against bjork. just sayin'...

come on, names!

and to answer the question, yeah, i've listened to it a few times this year. i'm preoccupied with newer stuff, but i still like Volta.

oh, you know. like when peaches put out "impeach my bush", it got me as giddy as when "debut" or "post" came out. meanwhile, "medulla" and "drawing restraint" were interesting, but neither got me geeked and juicy.

right now it's santogold. it's just freakin good pop music.

No, I don´t like the album much, unfortunately.

It just didn´t grabbed me.

i think i will revisit it in a year or two and appreciate it in a whole new way. that often happens to me with bjork albums i don't click with at first. but until then, i still think it's an awkward little album.

it seemed pretty cool, but i'm sure it would be much nicer on a theater screen and a pair of 3D glasses.

Mp3's and grainy internet videos are really destroying my visual and audio sensibilities. disbelief

No.....never really did. Some of the stuff i found instantly likeable, but as a record it never did it for me. Its actually my least favourite Bjork record now - apart from Selma Songs - which i dont consider a proper Bjork album.

I cant quite put my finger on it - perhaps its the horns, or the disappointment in the Anthony duets, im not sure. Im very into the sounds & textures of Bjork albums and I dont think this was cohesive enough - or maybe they just didnt do it for me. It has some excellent songs for sure - hope, Innocence, Wanderlust and of course Earth intruders, but the rest meanders too much for my liking.
