"State of Jazz" Discussion Panel

In addition to supporting the Atlanta Jazz Festival and all events surrounding the festival, Atlanta Jazz.Info kicks off the festivities by its participation on the highly anticipated "State of Jazz" discussion panel during the filming of the feature length jazz documentary project entitled "Jazz Is", chronicling the Atlanta jazz scene from the 60's to the present with the movie trailer being premiered during the event.

On Saturday, May 24th, Mr."North Sea" Phil Roberts, will serve as moderator to the discussion panel, consisting of jazz music notables, such as Joey Somerville Atlanta-based trumpeter, Sonny Emory drummer formally with Earth Wind and Fire, Neal Starkey legendary bassist who has recorded with Herbie Hancock and Freddie Hubbard, Jose Garcia pianist for International Groove Conspiracy and others.

Sentinel Media, the Atlanta Jazz Festival and Georgia State University Jazz Program hold the "State of Jazz" discussion on Saturday, May 24, 2008 at 60 Luckie Street in the Georgia State University Helen M. Aderhold Learning Center from 1:00pm to 2:30pm.
