I'd Rather Be With You" is one of the most perfectly melodic funk songs, PERIOD. That's a bad ass cut.

"I'm gone stick my love in your eye...so you can see me coming, baby...just coming all over you" lol lol lol lol lol Bootsy's a fool for that one!

Ahhhhh yeah.....One of my all time favorite albums. This is Bootsy's best album, overall I feel. And I LOVE Bootsy and I have all of his shit. So that's saying something, for me. His debut is just packed with jams. I dig his second album as well, plus The One Giveth album is a fave of mine. When my band Amalgam opened up for Bootsy at the House of Blues in 94, I actually brought ALL of my Bootsy albums to the soundcheck and left them in our dressing room hoping to meet Bootsy and get him to sign them. I've never done that to any other person. It was a mute point though since I never got to meet Bootsy.

Love it...

It is lightweight at heart and lyrics, but the melody kicks your ass.

I'd rather be you is the cut!
