Satriani in Cardiff last night! What a fucking show! Prince may be a world-class player but Joe is surfin' with the fucking aliens man! Peerless, fun, chatty and "THIS" close! Wow

You going? If not then do! If you've not seen him play before then it'll be totally awe-inspiring! You'll never look at another guitarist in the same way I guarantee it

Loved to have been that for that....
...is he still doing the meet and greet thing that I heard about? Apparently, for a very reasonable price you could meet the man before the show and get his signature (and he said to bring guitars along to sign) and a photo with him. That would be pretty cool! www.filmsfilmsfilms.co.uk - The internet's best movie site!

Yep, still doing that We only had normal tickets though as money is a bit tight at the moment. Next time he tours here I'll definately do the meet/greet thing. The wife will just have to wait it out till I've finished idolising. If he was playing more dates near by then I'd be booking one right now. Unfortunately he's moving on now. Stu Ham did a great spot on the bass and even chucked in a tongue in cheek country bit. Got everyone clapping and smiling anyway. Annie didn't enjoy Paul Gilbert much. Even when he used the power drill. I find him too 'shreddy' and he throws in too many neo-classical runs for my liking. He did play Suite Modale which was really cool to hear. But Joe really is something else. Complete virtuoso without the ego. Unlike someone I can think of that has something to do with this site

I've heard he allows his shows to be taped too which is pretty darn cool. Whats your fave Joe album?

Fucking obvious that! Surfing With The Alien! And yes, he allows himself to be filmed. Even stood posing for everyone during the encore right at the front of the stage! Not a pretentious bugger that bloke Prince, learn something buddy.

Didn't really like the new Satch album. But Paul's new album Silence Followed By a Deafening Roar is one of the best guitar instrumental albums ever.

No disrespect to *any* of the real musicians on this board, but Satriani is a tremendous player. You may or may not like his music, but you can't deny he plays the hell out of the guitar.
(I'm more of a Vai fan, myself.) Some people tell me I've got great legs...

(I'm more of a Vai fan, myself.) I used to prefer Vai in my teens (young shredder wannabe) but now I prefer Satch due to the melodic playing, blues licks, legato runs and crunchy riffs. And yes he is one tremendous player. To say otherwise would be rather foolish.
